  • Share Your Sparkle

On today’s episode, Susan Bock discusses how important it is to honor yourself and have the confidence to be yourself, not a copy of someone else. In getting to know ourselves, we can align our purpose, goals, and our sense of who we are in all aspects of our life.

Susan discusses how we need to journey inward to become aware of who we are, accept our uniqueness, and appreciate our value. Susan calls this the Triple-A effect, and it leads to a deeper understanding of our gifts and how we can help others in our professional roles as well as in our marketing if we move into business or entrepreneurial roles.

Divorce is a time to reinvent yourself, and focusing on what we are and creating our own journey rather than trying to use a formula is the way to truly achieve success. We take a look at this change from a personal and a professional perspective. Susan also shares how to deal with an overbearing inner critic in a way that leads to freedom from constant negativity and limitations.

  • Small Steps To Create The Change You Want

The conversation focuses on how to fulfill ourselves and find our source of joy. We talk about the difference between being “busy” and being fulfilled and satisfied. We have a great discussion on what self-care is and is not and how we need to focus on finding our way to care for ourselves spiritually, emotionally, and mentally. She shares a practical look at building presence or mindfulness into our day helps us to stay in the moment and finding joy in our lives, even in difficult times. • Managing Addictions Through Divorce And Beyond

On today’s episode, we talk with Candace Plattor, an Addictions Therapist who supports families of addicts. Candace openly discusses her addiction to medically prescribed opioids due to a chronic health condition at a time when this was not recognized by the medical profession. She shares the depths of the depression that led her to call a helpline that started her recovery process.

Candace shares the challenges with the current methods of treating addiction and how they do not address the reality that addicts and their families face. Candace stresses that addiction recovery is a choice and a conscious effort every day to remain sober. We talk about how codependency can hold people in relationships with addicts and how manipulative these situations can become. We also discuss the manipulation and gaslighting that addicts use to keep loved ones in a toxic relationship by placing blame.

Candace shares the importance of understanding the actions of the addicts and how loved ones play an important role and have an influence in the life of the addict. She shares how enabling and codependency can be changed to support addiction recovery through boundary setting.

    About the Guest:

The results Candace achieves are astounding: addicts stop using and families regain their lives from the ravages of addiction. Not only has her success led to a waiting list of clients but she is a sought-after leader in the field of addictions, helping both families and their addicts break the devastating cycle of addiction for good.

  • You Can Do Something About Stress

On today’s episode, Carla Jansen van Rosendaal shares how stress management needs to be a holistic approach that is based on your particular areas of stress. Carla uses the Life-Mind Scan, a scientific approach that is used in many companies and countries in Europe. This scan uses Metavital Human Expert technology to measure energy. It incorporates physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual health and how areas of energy flow or blockages can be detected that indicate stress. This information is used to create a customized plan to move from stress to balance.

We discuss how individuals often find themselves in stress and burnout that leads to health issues and a lack of ability to be present for those in their life, including their children. Carla shares her journey to becoming healthy again, including her training in becoming a Heartcoherence Coach, Life-Mind Creation Coach, and Being in Balance Coach.

    About the Guest:

Carla Jansen van Rosendaal is an expert on stress management and creating a healthy physical, mental, and emotional balance in life.

Years after my divorce (unexpected) I went through burnout for the third time. I ignored the first 2 since having 2 kids who needed extra attention, I thought I could not take the time to work on this. But with the 3rd one, I realized I had to admit I had stress and had to start working on real stress reduction. I did it in a way that I got out of my burnout within 1.5 months. That was the start of my own company as a coach in stress reduction. I learned more and more about stress, the influence of thought, and brain training. Nowadays that’s what I work with. I trained more than 7000 people (Police, companies, high-level schools, entrepreneurs) with great results. Making my way now to the USA. I lived in the USA for 6 years with a lot of fun and loved the people.

  • The Rise Of Women Of A Certain Age

On today’s episode, Dr. Andrea Slominski talks about the unique position “women of a specific age” are in at this time of life. Dr. Slominiski discusses the rise of the regency period for women, which is the time of life from 45 years onward. Since the 1900’s women of color have doubled their life expectancy, and white women are living about a third longer. This creates a unique and new life stage that no other large cohort of women has lived through at any time in the past.

Dr. A shares her ideas on how the rise of the regency period makes all of us the first generation of women to live through and past menopause as a group. Harnessing this power and going through midlife changes on a physical, spiritual, and mental level provides amazing opportunities as individuals and as a collective to make essential political, cultural, and economic shifts to make a significant positive impact in the world.

    About the Guest:

Andrea M. Slominski, Ph.D., is an author, speaker, and women's midlife coach. During her dissertation research and study, she explored the new life stage for women that has emerged over the past 100 years. Naming this new life stage, from ages 45-70, Regency, Dr. A. has spoken at conferences, published articles, and coached women to make the most of their emerging power years. Dr. A. guides women 45+ through the often-tumultuous transformations during perimenopause, midlife, and menopause. Through her dissertation work, she created a proprietary coaching method that helps women navigate these powerful years. Her work is rooted in the proven principles of depth and archetypal psychology, showing Regent women how to reclaim their passions, develop their purpose, and rediscover their "True North." She inspires her clients to live their most authentic lives in service of the greater good.

  • Stop Waiting And Get Curious About Your Potential

On today’s episode, Krys Pappius discusses how a near-death experience prompted her to see her life for what it was and to begin a journey of self-discovery that would result in her climbing Mount Kilimanjaro. Throughout the episode, we talk about how the exterior image of strength is an armor we wear to protect ourselves and eliminate the fear of making mistakes. Many of us lack an understanding of our purpose, which limits our satisfaction with all aspects of life.

We talk about the problem of people pleasing and how to create a process to turn a dream of freedom and autonomy into a reality. We focus on how coaching can help you to see the “blind spots” that are preventing you from moving forward.

Krys breaks down simple steps to get started in making these life changes. It all starts with recognizing a need to change and taking those safe, small steps that help you rise to your full potential, even in very challenging times.

    About the Guest:

In 2003, Krys was in her 10th year of a career as a police officer, and as far as anyone was concerned, she was successful. Then a serious car crash woke her up to the fact that her life was unfulfilling and boring, that she was a people pleaser who no longer knew who she was or what she wanted in life. In that moment, she promised herself that she would do whatever it took to create a life for herself that had meaning and purpose. It took Krys several years of searching to discover the secret to having the life she longed for, to living life on her own terms – guilt free! As a Mindset Coach, Krys’ mission is to share what she has learned with other women who are tired of being people pleasers and who are ready to take action and create a life they love.
