In this episode, the boys from the Darkest Timeline try to finish the season by continuing their three episode winning streak. This week they take on the vaguely disappointing beast that did the exact opposite of its job. That's right, we take on 2000's "Ready to Rumble", represented by David Arquette, Oliver Platt, Scott Caan, and Diamond Dallas Page! This film was supposed to the catalyst of WCWs return to the top, and to stop it from hemorrhaging viewers, but the whole thing was so universally panned that it became the final nail in WCW's coffin, and the company folded the next year.Ready to Rumble cost $24 million and only pulled in $12,394,327 in the domestic box office. It also made a further $58,035 somewhere else in the world, but for the life of me I can't find out where, but it clearly didn't make an impression there either. That leaves the worldwide total at effectively unchanged from the total in the states. I'm sure WCW was happy with their investment.Be sure to not tune in next week cause we're taking a week off. Welcome to the thirteenth Patron's Choice podcast from our Patreon. This episode originally aired on Christmas Eve 2017, and accidentally continues our Darkest Timeline Wrestling Gauntlet theme, in that it stars Bill Goldberg as Santa Claus. That's right, we watched 2005's "Santa's Slay"! It was another one of those iffy picks that only had a limited theatrical run, but boy were we glad that we let it slide, if I even remember correctly. This is also the final podcast we ever recorded with a horrendous technical issue that led to much worse sound than usual. Things sure were different six months ago, still using only one mic to record all of us as opposed to the multi-mic setup we have now. But I think Brinloft explains all that at the beginning of the podcast.Anyway, I can't find anywhere how much it cost to make this movie, or how much it made in its limited theatrical run, so there's no way to give you any of that information.Join us next week as we continue the Wrestling Gauntlet by watching 2016's "Kickboxer: Vengeance".

Welcome to the sixth episode of the Darkest Timeline Wrestling Gauntlet! In this episode, the boys from the Darkest Timeline ignore the fact that they lost to "See no Evil" last week, cause they're all about living in the present. That and all they've seen for the last hour and a half is dudes stripping and stripper dude drama, so they don't remember last week anyway. That's right, this week they face 2012's "Magic Mike", represented by Channing Tatum, Lots O' Dudes without clothes, and the spirit of Kevin Nash. Not really sure how we got here; David was the one that brought it up and no one checked his work, and here the film has an 80% on rotten tomatoes. Damn it, David.Speaking of mistakes, this film was not one financially. It only cost them $7 million to get a bunch of really really really in shape dudes to dance together and have interpersonal drama for nearly two hours. Off of that paultry budget, it made $113,721,571 in the States and $53,500,000 in the rest of the world for a worldwide gross of $167,221,571! It made nearly 24 times its budget. In this episode the boys from the Darkest Timeline endeavor to continue to salvage their win/loss average by showing 2006's unfortunately unmasked version of Kane (though still a scary kind of man) who's boss and whittle down his film debut unto so much sawdust on the mat. That film being 2006's "See No Evil" starring the Big Red Machine himself; Mayoral Candidate Glen "Kane" Jacobs! I'm not sure we properly thought through picking a fight with Kane from 12 years ago. The man was still in pretty good shape. We'd have no chance in a fair fight.Anyway; See No Evil cost a reported $8 million to make back in the day, so pretty standard for a lower budget theatrical horror film. Releasing on May 19, 2006, it stayed in theaters for 7 weeks and grossed $15,032,800 in the States and a further $3,531,667 on the rest of the Earth's surface for a worldwide total of 18,564,467. That's actually not so bad. More than double isn't the dream, but you're not going home dead broke either.
