“We Are What We Eat: Poisons In Our Everyday Foods.” That was Elizabeth Yarnells' TED Talk Topic. She's truly an expert on the topic and writes a healthy eating and natural lifestyle blog called 'Effortless Eating.' Since 1999, Elizabeth has been living with Multiple Sclerosis, but you'd never know it because her last MS attack was in 2002. A naturopathic doctor now (ND), Elizabeth discovered the role that food sensitivities play in inflammation, and not only helped herself but now runs a nationwide food sensitivities clinic designing customized anti-inflammatory diets, and she is the director of the Fight MS with Food project.
Whether you suffer from occasional or chronic gastro-intestinal issues, are battling auto-immune symptoms, or simply want to learn more natural and effective approaches to reclaiming your health, she's got information you can use to improve how you feel just by changing what you are eating! Meet Elizabeth at 11:40am eastern today on The Debbie Nigro Show 1490 WGCH or Listen Live from anywhere by clicking onto WGCH.com. You can also Listen Live on Tune In

Wellness Wednesday! Who doesn't want to change their body into a fat burning machine? A little little-known hormone called 'leptin' ignites fat burning, says Kat James, 54, who after years of trial and error, found a way of eating that made her 10 dress sizes smaller and freed her from her food obsession. Poor Kat endured a 12-year battle with an eating disorder and near liver failure, until she started overhauling her diet. She gave up her career as a celebrity makeup artist to devote her life to sharing what she’d discovered with others...how to achieve the same kind of biochemical flip! Kat James started her dramatic self- transformation in 1990. Since then, she’s led 88 retreats and has become known as the “Jane Goodall of leptin.” Tune in and meet Kat today on the show at 11:20am eastern The Debbie Nigro Show on 1490 WGCH or Listen Live form anywhere at WGCH.com. Invited John (The Barry White of Manufacturing LOL ) to join me on The Debbie Nigro Show today 11-12noon set 1490 WGCH or LIVE from any device WGCH.com. Podcasts land on DebbieNigro.com.

Drowsy Days. 250,000 drivers fall asleep at the wheel every day in the US. 30% of people report dozing off behind the wheel. 6,400 people die each year from driving drowsy. Losing 2 hours of sleep is equal to having 3 beers. False Info: Loud Music and rolling windows down will not protect you from drowsy driving. But a lemon will! Anson Williams figured this out after it saved his own life then did more research and developed an all natural product called Alert Drops you spray in your mouth that keeps you awake! Anson (who you might remember as Potsie Weber on "Happy Days) stops by the show today to explain. He's continuing the efforts of his famous cousin (he called Uncle), Dr. Henry Heimlich (Heimlich Maneuver), by saving lives. He works with cities around the country to raise Drowsy Driving Awareness. Good story - important topic. Cool Product. Tune in to The Debbie Nigro Show to day 11-12Noon 1490 WGCH or WGCH.com anywhere. Live on TuneIn too.
BTW: These happy days, Anson Williams is a father of 5 girls, a celebrated & respected director and a recognized philanthropist and business man. He was recently honored by Congress, the CA State Senate, the City of Los Angeles and the LAPD for his efforts on Drowsy Driving Awareness. His Happy Days Cast and many other celebs and first responders across the country help him continue to raise awareness about the 4 Driving D's -- Distracted, Drugged, Drunk and Drowsy Driving. The latter of which is currently leading the
list of casualties in the U.S. today.

Wellness Wednesday + Womens History Month + National Doctor's Day This Saturday = My Wonderful Doctor Mandira D. Gharekhan. She is compassionate, professional and smart as a whip. She is 'personal', cares, and takes the time to talk in a very busy profession. She is also humble but agreed to be my guest today during the show at 11:40am eastern.
There actually was a time when I was growing up it was odd to consider a female Dr. Imagine? Whew! Glad we're past that!
PS: National Doctor's Day is a holiday which is celebrated on March 30th in the United States. It is a holiday that honors physicians for the work they do for their patients, the communities they work in and for society as a whole.
PPS: Did you know who the first female Dr. was? Elizabeth Blackwell, M.D. (1821-1910) She was the First Lady Doctor in the World. She was the first woman to graduate from a medical school, and was a pioneer in promoting the education of women in medicine in the US.
