  • High Unemployment and Business Owners Can't Find Willing Employees – What's Going on?

This episode is a response to my experience in Autozone earlier this week - the manager was asking everyone in line if they or someone they knew wanted a job. He indicated that it was the unemployment pay and stimulus that kept people from coming back to work

I had heard the same thing from my fridge repairman who said he was working overtime because his friends didn't want to go back to work.

Is it really true that unemployment pay and stimulus is keeping people from working? What does this mean for the future of our economy? What do want to happen going forward?

I shared my expiernece on social media and it lead to a variety of different opinions about the effectiveness of the unemployment pay, to the transitioning nature of our workforce, and what employers would need to do to attrack employees.

In this episode I'm going to bring you several different angles and things to consider when thinking about the impacts and alternatives of unemployment pay, stimulus, and how it is shaping our (US) economy. We will also talk about the importance of psychological safety, and poverty, and how they relates to criminal behavior

What are you thoughts on unemployment and stimulus pay? What about Universal Basic Income?

"Curiosity and Judgment cannot exist in the same person at the same time" - Jason Digges

Jason Digges is on of the leaders of the Authentic Relating movement and the author of Conflict = Energy

I love how Jason refers to Authentic Relating (AR) as a decentralized, open-source movement. Like blockchain and crypto currencies, this is a movement that is sweeping across the world at just the time it is needed - because we are dealing with the biggest mental health crisis since World War II.

After doing some authentic relating games in my business mastermind - the League of Superconductors - I knew I needed bring Jason on to the show. For my clients and for myself - these games have vastly improved my approach to relationships at all levels.

Jason's book is full of games - and it is helpful for them to be labeled as games - because it is a playful way of training emotional intelligence.

This is the most fun and accessible process of learning to understand our emotions and internal experience, and also to grow personally within relationship with other people

  • My 30 Day Reiki Experiment for Enhanced Sports Performance

In January of 2021, I did a month long experiment where I did Reiki every day before or after my workouts, and at night before bed. I noticed Improved recovery, sleep, and reduced muscle soreness after hard cycling and plyometric workouts. This episode details my experience.

One month before, I had gotten my first Reiki attunement and I need practice everyday to learn how to use it, and I love applying healing techniques to performance enhancement

What is Reiki? From the Cleveland Clinic "Reiki is hands-on natural healing using the universal life force energy. the term comes from the Japanese words “rei,” meaning universal, and “ki,” which means vital life force energy that flows through all living things. Reiki, an abundant, gentle spiritual energy is not tied to any specific religion or nationality."

There have only been a few studies on sports performance and Reiki - mostly focusing on healing from injury and stress management.

I'd really like to see an 8 week study in well trained endurance athletes or weight lifters so we can see have some statistically significant results
