In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back and this week we're diving into the silliest of seasons! Yes, it's the MLS offseason and we're diving into all of the confirmed trades and transfers, while also discussing all the rumors we could find. There are some really awesome names on this list, aka Lorenzo Insigne, and we were super excited to talk about it. As there are a lot of transfers to go over and a lot of teams in the league (thanks Donny boy), we are going to be splitting this into 2 episodes to help not make this a super long episode. During this episode we will be discussing the transfers of Toronto, Seattle, Dallas, DC United, LA Galaxy, Montreal, RSL, Austin, New England, Chicago, LAFC, Columbus, San Jose, and FC Cincinnati. Philadelphia, Nashville, NYCFC, Atlanta, Orlando, RBNY, Miami, Colorado, SKC, Portland, Minnesota, Vancouver, and Houston. Those teams not covered in this part were covered in part 1, which was released at the same time as part 2, so make sure to listen in if your team is not covered in this part!

The moment we have all been waiting for is here, and it is time for the second annual big MLS quiz. In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back and this week they're giving their reactions to the MLS Cup Final between NYCFC and Portland, or if you ask Andrew, between NYCFC, Portland, and RBNY. Capping off the 2021 MLS season was NYCFC taking home the cup and being crowned as first time champions. Listen in to find out how a die-hard RBNY fan thinks of this occurrence. In addition, the guys talk MLS best XI snubs. As the season came to a close, so did the decisions for who makes the best XI for this season. While there are not really any shocking players on the list, there were certainly some players that deserved some more consideration. Make sure to listen in to hear who we think!

In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back and this week we continue on our trend of reacting to our preseason predictions! This week we are looking at our standings predictions and our top 5 players at each position going into the season. It is safe to say we clearly never get any predictions wrong and got 100% of our predictions right, and the only way to disprove this is to listen to the episode. When it comes to the top 5 players, we compared our list with the list of ratings on WhoScored to give some context as to how we are comparing our lists there. In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back and this week we are diving into the MLS end of season awards. As some of you may remember, we made predictions at the start of the year for who we believed would be the winners for each of the MLS awards, and now we are going to be reacting to our predictions. Since some of the awards have been officially announced already we will also give our thoughts on the winners of those awards, however if the award is not announced then we will give our thoughts on who will win (or more like who should win). Following those awards we also dive into our picks for the awards that Extratime podcast have come up with, and let me tell you, these awards are fantastic. Some of the awards include Outside back of the year, Personality of the year, and our favorite Chris Armas D-mid of the year. Finally to wrap things up we review our bold predictions made at the start of the year and see if we got any of them right!

In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back with part 2 of who stay, who goes! With the season wrapping up for many teams, roster decisions will be made very soon and we wanted to get in our predictions as to who stays on the team and who goes. We take a look at both players who are on loan at the team as well as players that are coming up on end of contract. We did our best to make an accurate list, however we know our list of players to discuss is not 100% accurate. There are some exciting names to discuss in this episode such as Carlos Vela, Nani, and Andrew's favorite Daniel Vega! In this episode of the Designated Players Podcast, the guys are back and this week we're talking HG players. As the league transitions to a new era of youth selling, the HG academy will become ever so important. Already it has shown the fruits of its labor in players like Jordan Morris and Alphonso Davies. While some teams thrive in the HG system, others don't seem like they know where to start. We've come up with a list of maybe all of the HG players for each team, which we will use to make a tier list of the best to worst HG systems. Note, we have disqualified any teams that are LAFC or newer as there hasn't been much time to sign players and see the development.

If you're an FC Dallas fan, this is the episode you've waited for. Not only does Andrew recognize your existence, but he also praises you! We take a look through each HG on each team and determine which players the teams have "hit" on and which they've missed. Based on some criteria we mention in the episode, we come up with our rankings and make one beautiful bell curve of a tier list. Some teams will surprise you at their success, while others will surprise you with their... lack of success... Minnesota. Listen in and let us know if we got it right or wrong!
