The very last episode of Season 1 of The Developing Athlete is the last interviews of the season compiling the answer to the question, "What are 3 things you would tell an athlete on their journey of development" and everyone has a great and unique answer. Thank you so much for being on this podcast journey and I look forward to being back in a couple of months to bring you more valuable episodes!

Welcome to the last interview of Season 1 of The Developing Athlete and couldn't ask for better guests than Coach Riki Murakami and Michelle Lowery who preach the "Athlete for Life" philosophy that resonates well with the message of this podcast. I know you'll enjoy this episode and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you and your family.

The process, not the destination, shows us what we are made of, stand for, and how we will be remembered. Whether you've committed to school, your sport, or your craft, honoring that commitment to yourself and putting in the work especially when you don't want to will propel you forward from all of those who talk a big game but don't deliver when the time comes. Take a listen to today's episode as I explain how to honor the words and promises you make to yourself and others.

We all crave validation in one way or another whether it's through our work, our family, or our sport. We want to show that we are the best and sometimes in that pursuit, we take ourselves a little too seriously. In golf, if you grip the club too tightly, you're unable to swing effectively and it is the same concept with life. Do your best but also have fun and laugh in the process. Today's episode is all about that balance.

Mental illness and recovery is a subject we haven't touched on a lot on this podcast to date but it's an extremely important area a lot of individuals struggle and deal with and if you think or know you struggle with addiction or a form of mental illness, this episode will undoubtedly help you. Alison Haase is the author of the book, "The Addict on Aisle 7", a book about helping women to stop shaming themselves and step into their fullest potential. Enjoy!

Desire means "of the father." You wouldn't feel the calling to chase your dream if you weren't meant to accomplish it. No great story is absent of conflict, struggle, and heartache. You may not have a season this year but you can develop yourself in other ways so when your time comes, you'll be ready. Take a listen and please take my advice to keep chasing your dream.

There is no such thing as a perfect time to start any goal. We are one month away from 2021 and COVID isn't going anywhere when that clock strikes midnight so you might as well start now! Listen in as I explain the flawed myth behind perfection.
