The Devil Within

🕊The Death of the New America - Part One

“THE RISE OF ROBERT F. KENNEDY”

In the first installment of this two-part series, The Ides of April traces the origins of the Kennedy

dynasty—its ruthless ambition, its early tragedies, and the extraordinary forces that shaped

Robert F. Kennedy into the most unlikely moral voice of the 1960s.

We begin with the unvarnished story of Joseph P. Kennedy Sr. and the empire he built through

Hollywood maneuvering, shrewd investments, insider access, and political calculation. From

there, we follow the family’s early ascent into American power—and their first devastating fall

with the death of Joseph Kennedy Jr. in WWII.

We then explore the partnership between Jack and Bobby, forged in crisis and defined by the

Cuban Missile standoff, internal political strife, and the enormous emotional cost of holding up a

crumbling world order. RFK’s transformation—from loyal strategist to grieving brother to

emerging moral leader—sets the stage for his unprecedented rise in 1968.

THE DEVIL’S LEDGER

Week of December 8th

Welcome back to The Devil’s Ledger — and happy holidays! This week we’re unwrapping a lineup that’s equal parts chilling, mysterious, and deeply fascinating.

🕯 The Creepiest Thing I Heard This Week:

The Frozen Man of Colorado — the urban legend about the man supposedly found frozen solid who later thawed out and woke up. We explore how this story took root, why communities clung to it, and what it says about our enduring fear — and hope — that death isn’t always final.

👁 On The Devil Within:

The Mantis Man — a bizarre New Jersey cryptid seen along the Musconetcong River… practically in Branden’s own childhood backyard. Tall, insectoid, translucent, silently watching… this one is almost too close to home.

📜 On The Ides of April:

We launch a brand-new two-part historical series, The Death of the New America, examining the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy — his rise, his moral transformation, and how his sudden death altered the political soul of the nation.

🔪 On Criminal Mischief:

It’s part two of our collaboration with Portland’s acclaimed true-crime podcast Murder in the Rain. They continue their coverage of serial predator Warren Forrest, featuring an emotionally

gripping interview with our own Carolyn Ossorio, who chronicled the story in Stolen Voices of

Dole Valley.

💎 On Taboo Treasures:

We’re keeping this week’s feature a surprise — but trust us, you don’t want to miss it.

🎄 This Week in Horror Cinema:

Silent Night, Deadly Night — December 12, 2025 (Theatrical Release)

A savage reimagining of the 1984 slasher cult classic. Childhood trauma, Santa-suited

vengeance, and a holiday bloodbath for a new generation of horror fans.

🔥 CLOSING THOUGHT

The holidays are a time for comfort and light — but they’re also full of shadows, old stories, and

things that won’t stay buried. Whether it’s a frozen man waking up, a cryptid lurking in a river,

or the echoes of a fallen leader shaping our politics — this season reminds us: the past is never

really gone.

🔥 THE DEVIL’S LEDGER — WEEK OF NOVEMBER 24th

🦃 Thanksgiving Edition

Welcome back to The Devil’s Ledger.

A warm Thanksgiving greeting to everyone cooking, traveling, hiding from family, or listening alone in a dark kitchen somewhere — which, for our listeners, feels about right.

Grab a drink. Settle in. Things get weird this week.

👁️ THE CREEPIEST THING I HEARD THIS WEEK

🩸 The Thanksgiving Attic Squatter (2017 — FACT)

Straight out of York County, Pennsylvania — a family prepping for Thanksgiving discovers food missing, an unlocked window, and… footsteps.

Not outside.

Not downstairs.

But in the attic.

Police found:

    •    A makeshift bed

    •    Food wrappers

    •    A journal logging the family’s day-to-day movements

And one line that still chills:

“Thanksgiving will be the best time. They’ll all be downstairs.”

The intruder vanished.

No prints.

No tracks.

No identity.

🛰️ THIS WEEK ACROSS THE EVIO UNIVERSE

💀 THE DEVIL WITHIN

Thomas Creech: The Satanic Serial Killer

This week, we descend into the life of alleged Satanic killer Thomas Creech — from a loveless, isolated childhood… to a nomadic trail of bodies across the American West… to the fluorescent-lit hell of the Idaho prison system, where he became both a monster and a myth.

A full two-part saga of fear, folklore, and the man who learned to weaponize darkness.

📜 THE IDES OF APRIL

The Scholar and the Madman: The Assassination of President James Garfield

An intellectual President.

A delusional wanderer who believed destiny owed him power.

A country still healing from the Civil War.

This week’s episode explores the collision of two lives — and how it changed American government forever.

🕵️‍♀️ CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Ripped From the Headlines: The Karen Read Lawsuit

After two blockbuster trials, Karen Read was found not guilty in the death of Off. John O’Keefe. Now she’s filed a 46-page lawsuit alleging:

    •    A coordinated cover-up

    •    Mishandled evidence

    •    A conspiracy among local officials

Carolyn breaks it down line by line — a masterclass in investigative storytelling.

🧪 TABOO TREASURES

Visionaries or Inventors?

Bruce and Jeff dive into the minds of history’s most chaotic geniuses:

    •    Graham Bell vs. Edison

    •    Leonardo da Vinci’s fever-dream notebooks

    •    Jobs vs. Woz — prophet vs. engineer

    •    Hedy Lamarr — Hollywood icon turned Wi-Fi pioneer

    •    Musk — self-invited to every innovation discussion

    •    And Nikola Tesla — the king of electric madness

Plus: the legendary Tesla Death Ray, the government seizure of his private research, and the infamous missing files that conspiracy theorists still insist are sitting in a locked federal warehouse.

🎥 THIS WEEK IN HORROR MOVIES

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2

More animatronics.

More lore.

More “I’m never going to a themed pizza place again” energy.

Perfect if you need a post-dinner escape from your family.

🌘 OUTRO

🩸 THE DEVIL WITHIN

THE GIRL IN THE RED COAT

EPISODE TWO: Where the Woods Keep Their Secrets

(Chapters 4–6)In Episode Two, we descend deeper into Glastenbury’s shadow—where folklore tightens into

pattern, where disappearances begin to echo one another, and where Paula’s story becomes part

of something older than any hiker who has ever stepped onto that mountain.

Across three haunting chapters, we explore:

CHAPTER 4 — Patterns in the Dark

The chilling sequence of vanishings that predate and follow Paula: seasoned woodsman Middie

Rivers, veteran James Tedford, eight-year-old Paul Jepson, and hiker Frieda Langer. Five

disappearances. Five years. All circling the same mountain. A shape emerges… and with it, the

birth of the “Bennington Triangle.”

CHAPTER 5 — The Hunger Beneath the Pines

Sightings. Lights. Voices in the fog. The hush—total, unnatural silence that swallows the world

whole. Shadow figures pacing hikers. A girl in a red coat seen gliding across unbroken snow. The

deeper people look, the more the mountain seems to look back.

CHAPTER 6 — The Last Light on the Trail

The legend grows. A mountain with memory. A trail that shifts like a living organism. A red coat

glimpsed between trees at dusk. And the haunting possibility that Paula—like so many before

and after her—did not fall victim to accident, but to a presence older, colder, and infinitely

patient.
