I open the discussion of Meditation with Michael King, a down to earth Aussi who loves to meditate. Feeling refreshed after being on a powerful silent meditation retreat myself, in this episode we explore the gifts that meditation brings.
Michael is an experienced meditator, facilitating Meditation teacher training on his online academy guiding and supporting people from all over the world on their 9-month's in-depth training with his beautiful wife Hannah. Their mission is to train teachers so they can share meditation in a relatable, fun, lighthearted and impactful way.
For Meditation to bear fruits it has to become a regular practice, if our minds are busy which most of us can relate to experiencing, meditation can be quite challenging at the start, as it brings to the surface our inner and outer obstacles, but as Micheals Guru Baba Jl says:
“The biggest obstacles we can have is thinking we already know who we are.”
Micheal shares with us the magical art of meditation, as a three-part process,
-
Preparation
-
Deconstruction
-
Re-construction.
The path or end goal of meditation is more peace, energy, creativity, self-knowledge as well as being able to carve and create the life you want through positive psychology, we can develop the true ultimate purpose of meditation, which is unconditional happiness.
Micheal does an amazing job at bridging the gap between spiritual practice and a helping people achieve a greater sense of self-awareness, which is the natural consequence of meditative practices, leading us away from ignorance, our habitual patterns, our bad-habits and our reactivity, towards greater self-love, resilience, fulfilment, observation, alignment and guidance.
I absolutely loved talking about meditation, love, relationships, Gurus in this episode, definitely worth a listen if you want to invite present moment awareness into your life, as
Micheal guides us through a short self-awareness meditation towards the end, you can practice this meditation anytime you want to tap into greater stability and awareness, through becoming still and exploring our mind on a deeper level, we will undoubtedly spark our intrinsic desire to move beyond any of our current limitations holding us back from living an auspicious life.
