This week, Josh and Mike ride solo (and so low) once again! Noooooo, this doesn’t mean no one wants to guest on the show (Mike had the freakin’ original singer from Pantera locked in!!) but we are (surprisingly) getting good responses on these Mike and Josh only deals. And it saves costs on all the amenities we offer guests (five star hotel, chauffer, fine wines before taping, etc.).
This week Josh and Mike jump from the ever controversial subject of whether or not using ones bra as a wallet is socially graceful, to Mike’s recent surprise birthday party (surprise! You have friends!), to a heart-warming ending where Josh and Mike agree upon the idea that man’s empathetic nature gives him emotional incentive to treat his fellows with decency (or some shit).
Thanks everyone for your support! Mike gives a special bonus shout out this week to the DigHeads that made his recent birthday extra amazing (especially Chris Carman). If you get a chance, find us on Stitcher, rate us in iTunes, and perhaps tell a friend or two about the DigSesh. Oh and all of our stand-up and improv performance dates are listed at DigressionSessions.com/Calendar !!!!!!

This week on The Digression Sessions we all fall into a burning ring of Meyer. That’s right, Jim Meyer returns to the program and this time it’s impersonal. Jim is a Baltimore-based stand-up comedian, columnist for the Baltimore City Paper, and is now really into planting trees around the city, apparently.
Hot topics discussed this week include; Jim’s recent interview with Jock Cousteau’s son, the recently proven correlation between scrotom-size and parental competence, and the the City Paper , Best of contest (Jim got the gold for Best Columnist, while we got the bronze for Best Podcast, and both Josh and Mike awarded themselves homemade ‘Participation’ ribbons for Best Comedian).
Thanks everyone who got us to number three in the contest! I mean really the other two rankings both correspond with bathroom behaviors anyway, so we are more than happy with three! Don’t forget to ‘like’ our Facebook page and check out Josh and Mike’s standup and improv dates at the Calender on the Digression Sessions website. Thanks DigHeads!

- The Book w/ Jay Szech -
This week, we are joined by comedian and fellow podcaster Jay Szech! Jay’s last appearance on the show was deleted by terrorists, but thanks to technological advancement and sheer will of Mike and Josh’s patriotism, we did another episode! Take that destiny!
Jay is also a teacher and all around decent fellow. He’s even dabbled in television broadcasting, as we learn in this ep. Check out his awesome podcast entitled the Jay and J show, which Josh and Mike will hopefully appear on soon!
Topics discussed include staying out of “The Book,” Jay’s disapproval of city-based hipster culture (Golden West and used copies of Hemmingway just ain’t his thang), Jay’s approval of positive support among local comedians, and a fluctuating, contradictory stance on local comedy contests (he’s a complex individual folks, like Tupac).
Thanks again for all the support we got with the City Paper poll. If its results are accurate, we are at least the third most popular podcast in Baltimore! Please subscribe to us in Stitcher and post on our Facebook page. Thanks Dig Heads!

Hola Digheads!
We play this week’s Digression Sessions take on that oft-controversial yet endlessly fascinating topic (to them) of Josh and Mike. Josh accidently deleted Jay Szech's first appearance on the Digression Sessions but thankfully Josh and Mike were eager to fill in for a quickie, cash-in (except they don’t get paid).
These intimate, no-guest eps are just what the doctor (and no one else) ordered! We kid! We love these eps and hope you do too! Two friends get to go in-depth with where they are at mentally and emotionally in the world of local comedy and maybe share a few thoughts on the Westboro Baptist Church less popular signs and some drankin’ stories.
Our apologies to Jay Szech for the accidental deleting of his existence on Digression Sessions. We swear we will have you back soon Jay!
Hola Digheads!
On this week’s Digression Sessions we welcome back comedian and good friend, Mike Storck who earns his golden Diggy this week, with his third appearance on the show! Mike is a veteran standup comedian who’s been in the game since before the “who’s on first bit.” Or at least since the late nineties. Mike has contributed to “The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Jokes,” won the mid-Atlantic section of HBO’s “Lucky 21,” and can tell you everything you need to know about current Mountain Dew products.
We’re not kidding about this Mountain Dew knowledge Dig Heads. Mike schools Josh and Mike M. this week on the variations of Mountain Dew currently in existence (spoiler alert: there’s no “Chrystal” option).
But that’s not all DigHeads, if you download in the next ten minutes we’ll also throw in a discussion on Mike Storck’s take on that oft-controversial, Digression Sessions, fan-favorite topic of peeing in the humidifier. And man does Mike weigh in on this one.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to vote for us in the City Paper poll. You’ve won the Best of Our Hearts Award! Please subscribe to us in iTunes or favorite us in Stitcher! And keep those comments coming on the Facebook page. Thanks everyone. We love you!

Hola DigHeads! On this week’s podcast we bid farewell to Digression Sessions ally Grant Lindahl! Grant is not dying, he’s merely moving to another land, a Port-Land! We were grateful to have Grant for one last romp around the cast this week, before he ships out (Dearest Martha, how I long for your bosom).
Grant has kept the flame of alt-comedy- nerdiness burning strong in the local scene over the last few years. He has smashed guitars at stand-up shows, sketched other comedians in action (check out the drawing of Josh and Mike from the Chris LaMartina ep on the website), and now has a cartoon webseries called “Damaged” going with New York comedian Liz Miele! Check it out!
We chat with Grant about Damaged, Grant’s near-joining of the military over art-school (what?!), Grant’s curious habit of tormenting his Mother with photos of a non-existant cousin, and Josh’s adventures in performing comedy at a local Gay leather club. Spoiler-alert: no gay sex (what?!).
Thanks for stomping in Grant, this was another fun and interesting discussion!

Hola Digheads!
On this week’s Digression Sessions we have one of Josh and Mike’s favorite improvisers/people, no it’s not Wayne Brady, it’s the amazing Jon Ulrich!
Jon returns to the Digression Sessions maybe with a bit of a somber ‘tude (he says he was feeling a bit anxious) but he fortunately also brought the fact that he is Jon Ulrich so it all worked out. Though we didn’t get quite as metaphysical as the last time Jon was ‘round these parts, we still; had a great time in what may be one our most disjointed, yet interesting eps yet.
Topics discussed include how much Josh and Mike love Jon Ulrich, how no one appreciates an improv unless they were present for it, ghosts (spoiler alert-Mike is skeptical while Josh and Jon are suckers), and more!
Oh and if you haven’t please, please, please vote for us in the Baltimore City Paper’s “best of” for best podcast. It’s at the bottom of the News and Media section. We really want to take this thing this year! VOTE HERE! - www.citypaper.com/bob/poll

Hola Digheads!
On this week’s Dig Sesh we bid bon voyage to one of Baltimore’s many funny ladies, the always hilarious Kenny Frankly! That’s right Kenny is packin’ up her humor and headed to that other coast we’ve heard so much about.
Kenny is a standup comedian and actress. She spent a good portion of her stay here as part of “Velvet Jugular,” a desperate, untalented, act that never failed to disappoint audiences. Oh wait, I’m thinking of Velvet Revolver. Velvet Jugular is great!
On this week’s ep, we discuss Kenny’s reasons for leaving this Detroit in waiting, as well as Josh’s unexpected connection to Kenny, and of course Kenny’s comedy and theater chops. Oh and we learn Kenny’s real first, last, and even mother’s maiden, names.
Thanks for the support DigHeads! Please write on our Facebook wall, subscribe to us on Stitcher, and maybe tell a friend or two about us. Love you!

Hola DigHeads! This week on the Digression Sessions we have Chris Hudson! Chris is a local stand-up comedian, musician, and wacky facial hair enthusiast who recently nearly died in a car accident! Nice try fate, but when the Digression Sessions schedules you, not even the cold scythe of death gives you an excuse to cancel.
On this episode, Chris reveals all of the traumatic details of his rendezvous with life’s hard and indifferent final act, as well as his perfectly trimmed sideburns! Luke Perry, move to the back of the bus!
Chris isn’t the only one willing to get real this week. Mike questions if to-go coffee lids are intentionally designed to drip coffee everywhere while Josh finally calls out and exposes the most evil individuals on the planet today. Hint: it has nothing to do with a recent, personal, experience of first-world inconvenience. Furthermore, tow truck yards are the scum of the Earth!
Hey everyone, look for Josh and Mike’s improv and stand-up dates on the Digression Sessions website. Also, if you get a chance please leave us a review and or rating on iTunes. And hey, why not subscribe to us on Stitcher? Would that kill you?!
Thanks DigHeads!
