Hola DigHeads! This week, we don’t screw around with formalities, format, or foreplay. This one is short but jam-packed with all sorts of random nonsense!

This caffeinated, anxiety attack of an episode features stand-up comedians, Eric Frost and Nick Carter. Eric is a former Baltimorean who has migrated to New York where he spends his time being funny, designing web sites, and not looking like the sociopathic teen from that movie “Kids.”

We didn’t get a whole lot out of Nick this time around (we will have him back at some point), other than the fact that he has been doing comedy for three years, is jealous of his namesake’s website, and has already prepared what he is going to say upon entering heaven.

Topics of discussion this week include: how boring super-hero movies can be, James Lipton’s lurid past, and which philosopher makes for the most bad-ass sounding name-drop (hint: depending on your pronunciation, it may rhyme with pizza).

Hola DigHeads! This week on the Digression Sessions we have Justin Hancock, another very funny gentleman from that Color Me Funny crew. Justin has been doing standup in and around Baltimore and Bel Air, Maryland for the last few years, as well as acting in those hilarious CMF shorts (I’m talking about video not clothing).

On this episode we discuss Justin’s brief stint as an EMT, the reality of the ol’ “weather makes my knee hurt tale,” exactly how Justin was made fun of in school, and so much more. Plus Justin and Josh square off to see who’s ankles are the most swollen!

We had another funny and interesting conversation with Justin and we are getting our awkward silence ration down to a solid .5% or so!

Hola DigHeads! This week we sit and chat with comedian, Brandon Lescure. Brandon is a major force behind the local comedy-team juggernaut, Color Me Funny. The self-proclaimed “glue” of the group, Brandon spends nearly as much time and effort working on CMF’s multiple stand-up shows, bi-weekly web videos, and other things in the works, as Josh and Mike spend thinking about doing things.

We talk with Brandon about his regular life (he’s a mailman), his stand-up career (he does this when not working as a mailman), and his desire to keep his day job as separated as possible from his comedy endeavors (which we understand, I mean he’s a mailman for Christ’s sake).

Seriously this is a great episode; Brandon is a funny and intelligent guy. We even foray into personal ghost tales, crime-fighting encounters, and Mike’s total ignorance of anything going on in the world of comedy. Hola DigHeads! This week we bid a fond farewell to a DigSesh regular and one on Baltimore’s best comedians, Tim Hoeckel. No, he’s not terminally ill, or being deported, or upset about Josh and Mike ‘s blatant plagiarization of his patented “Tim Hoeckel Shuffle”, he’s just moving to North Carolina for some reason.

On this episode we talk about Tim the hardships of the comedian’s life, Sammy Davis and his relationship with the Church of Satan, and the hardships of pooping at the beach (sand not water).

We wish Tim well in his life in the South, where we assume he will be performing exclusively at tent revivals and Waffle Houses. Thanks Tim Hoeckel! Baltimore will truly miss you!

Farting in the Rain

Hola DigHeads! This week we speak to two of our favorite comedians in Baltimore, nay the milky way! That’s right, on this episode Josh and Mike get the distinguished pleasure to speak to stand-up comedians/improv actors, Josh Kuderna and Mike Moran! Josh mostly handles the Mike Moran questions, while Mike focuses more on talking about himself.

No, this is not some desperate attempt to scrape together an episode for the week due to a cancelation and inability to find a last-minute replacement; this is a desperate attempt to scrape together an episode due to a cancelation and lazy unwillingness to find a last-minute replacement!

Seriously though, this turned out to be a great conversation. We get silly and in-depth and barely quote The Simpsons randomly! We converse about our lives and where we are in the local world of Baltimore comedy . We even argue a little about the potency of the invisible hand of the market for some reason!

Don’t let Rob’s beard, tattoos, and having worked at the City Paper fool you, Rob is no hipster, as he makes clear in this ep! In just a year of doing stand-up, Rob has risen from the vacant depths of just being a funny guy to featuring at local shows and even opening for Doug Stanhope!

This may be one of our sharpest and honest episodes yet, as Rob’s comedic and conversational energy blends seamlessly with Josh and Mike’s.

On this week’s show we talk with Rob about high school, being an Army brat, bad performances gone silent, good intentions, gone awkward and more! I think we even get more Stephan King this week.

Hola Digheads! This week Josh and Mike are joined by multi-talented comedians, Mark Miller and Kathy Carson!

Mark and Kathy are both Baltimore based stand ups and improvisers. Mark has a dry wit, a penchant for one-liners and a delivery that relishes awkward silence. While Kathy has more of a story based approach to stand up, which mixes in a healthy bit of social commentary as well.

Mark is also a member of the Baltimore Rock Opera Society or BROS. Their next feature-length original rock opera is “MURDERCASTLE.” Set in Chicago’s 1893 World’s Fair, MURDERCASTLE recounts the disturbing tale of America’s first serial killer, H.H. Holmes – the empire he created, and the brutal fate of his victims. MUDERCASTLE opens Friday, May 10, 2013 at The Autograph Playhouse in Baltimore.

And you can see Kathy performing with her BIG troupe, Lekker, Friday April 19th at the Mobtown Theater at Meadow Mill in Baltimore.

During this ep, Mark shares stories about his battles with bullies in middle school and high school, his contributions to BROS, his start in comedy, and the music he makes under the moniker, MARKITECT. Kathy talks about working with children for her past job at Lifetouch, growing up with goats, comedy, and her love of Gain detergent.
