From SBS Special Forces to World Record Holder: Dean Stott's remarkable journey embodies the relentless pursuit of excellence. A 16-year military veteran who served in the UK's elite Special Boat Service, Dean's path took an unexpected turn when a 2011 injury led him into high-stakes private security. His expertise became indispensable to world leaders, including a legendary solo evacuation of the Canadian Embassy in Libya in 2014.

Dean wasn't finished pushing the boundaries. In 2016, he embarked on an extraordinary challenge: cycling the entire 14,000-mile Pan-American Highway. Not only did he complete this gruelling journey, but he also shattered two world records in the process, finishing in just 99 days.

In this special episode, I interviewed my good friend Yair Levi, a veteran of Israel's most elite and secretive Navel Commando unit Shayetet 13 (SEAL) as we commemorate a year since October 7th. 

Yair Levi is a Jewish Israeli singer, songwriter, and musical producer based in Tel Aviv, Israel. 

Yair, a Jewish Levite (descendants of the Tribe of Levi) who served as a Captain in the Israeli Navy SEALs for 8 years, creates a unique mixture of Jewish soul music with his faith and Biblical values. Through his songs, Yair is able to revive ancient music and bring it to today’s world.

Yair’s Music and personal journey led him to various musical cooperations with Israel’s leading musicians. In the last two years, his journey has taken him across the borders of Israel.

Yair’s connection to scriptures created one of his most powerful songs, ‘Refa Na’ (‘please heal her’, Numbers 12:13), which he wrote in 2020 to his ill grandmother. The song has reached millions of views on YouTube and was translated to a variety of languages (Chinese, German, Spanish and more). The success of ‘Refa Na’ made him one of the most surprising and diverse singers in the international faith music arena.

One of the most interesting cover versions for ‘Refa Na’ was of the Lebanese Christian singer Carine Basilli, who asked Yair to sing the song with her in Arabic, as a prayer for peace in the Middle East.
