We love having friends on the podcast, especially if they're fellow shoe nerds like us. Emily is one of the few/only women shoe reviewers on YouTube, and also has the most creative channel name (@runlikeheller). Oh, and she's also on the #traintonyc team, so we're lucky we get to hang out with her a few times on our journey to running the New York City Marathon with New Balance.
We talk about how she got into running and reviewing, what life is like on Long Island, and which shoes she's loving right now.

Sorry to those who aren't baseball fans, but the Orioles made the playoffs, so we take some time to acknowledge the only real birds that exist in the world. Then we get into the usual randomness and try and figure out if Thomas got placebo drunk at a Guns 'n' Roses concert in 1992. Also, Meg has a minor setback three weeks out from Chicago. In shoe talk, we discuss the $500 Adidas Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1 and, on the opposite side of the spectrum, the $120 carbon-plated Atreyu Race Model.

He won the 5th Avenue Mile two weeks after he took down Jakob Ingebrigtsen on the sport's biggest stage, outkicking him en route to a world title in the 1500m. And now he's a guest on the greatest podcast in history of the universe. So yeah, you could say it's been a whirlwind of a month for Brooks elite Josh Kerr. We had a lot of fun talking to him about running, winning, and eating to much fast food in America.
The gang took the actual train to NYC to run the New Balance and New York Road Runners 5th Avenue Mile. We talk about the worst seat on a train, Thomas's race day regrets, and Robbe making questionable decisions about stuff found on the ground (again). We also cover the legendary life of Mike the Headless Chicken, which is marginally more entertaining than our conversation about the New Balance 1080v13, which features some major upgrades.
From shooting Satisfy and Norda to growing up in SoCal, Thomas talks with Adam Talan (aka The Dirty Boy) about all things art and creativity.
It's not an illusion: Salomon has a legit race day shoe in the S/Lab Phantasm 2. But before we talk about that, we must discuss Meg's 100-mile training week, the merits of banana splits, and the reality of reviewing shoes and how brands perceive us. The Salomon S/Lab Phantasm 2 releases on October 1 for $275.

What's going on behind the scenes of the Adidas Adizero podium push over the last few years? That's what we ask Robbie Paterson, Senior Manager of Footwear Development in the Adizero Elite Racing line. We get all the details on how they almost had a 50 mm race shoe until World Athletics laid down the law, how much testing and development goes into an Adizero shoe, and everything that went into the Adidas Adizero Prime X 2 Strung.
We get to talking about the Adidas Prime X Strung 2 (eventually), but first, there's bigger fish to fry, like calling out runners running stop signs (even though we do it all the time), Thomas's flirtation with a stress fracture, high fructose frozen popsicle fun, and whether or not metal detecting is cool or ever has been. Real important stuff for runners.
If you follow track, the man needs no introduction. Chris Chavez is the founder of Citius Mag, a media brand dedicated to all things track and field. We talk about his role at Citius, the world of track and field, and what's it's like behind the scenes of running.

We did the Cape Cod kwassa kwassa, running the Falmouth Road Race with Asics this past weekend. We recap all that, including Meg's completion of the Kofuzi Truly Challenge (and her amazing performance on race day). Robbe also scavenges someone's breakfast in the airport and you get to find out if we're gonna be cremated when we die, because why not. Oh, and we talk about the Puma Magnify Nitro 2, a max cushion trainer that we've been enjoying this week.
