Sara Honegger the Director of Marketing, Youth & Affiliate programs at the National Reining Horse Association is not only wise beyond her years, but she shares her heart for the industry, learning from each other to make the horse community better, and she truly represents what it means to be an Educated Cowgirl!

On today's episode, I am sharing a very educational and important conversation I had with someone who has dedicated her life and career to helping owners improve their horse's nutrition, to help them make the connection between the research side and what they see on feed store shelves. You may also know her from her own podcast the Feed Room Chemist and if you haven't, you should check it out! Dr. Jyme Nichols from Bluebonnet Feeds truly shows her heart for helping owners and the important topics that affect equine nutrition. This is such an important topic that we as riders, trainers, and owners need to learn more about as there is a lot of misinformation in today's digital world from people who claim to be equine nutrition experts, but don't actually have the credentials to make informed decisions about a horse's feeding plan. It is also important that we understand these nutrition concepts because the more we as owners can be informed about it the better the equine industry will be as a whole for animal welfare and proper, responsible horse care.
I learned so much from our conversation, not only some new terms like what NSC stands for, but also what I should be looking for in creating a feeding plan for my own horse and more. I hope you enjoy this episode and you will definitely want to take notes for this one!

I am so excited about today's episode, as I get to share with you my very candid conversation with a cowgirl who I have known and looked up to my whole life! She is a legend in the western and equine industries! Patti Colbert has been awarded the Fern Sawyer Award by the National Cowgirl Hall of Fame, has been inducted into the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, is a businesswoman and an accomplished competitor.  We talk about so many things in this episode from the importance of staying relevant in this industry and in business, to how she is helping cowgirlpreneurs with their own businesses and extended education needs, how her love for the lifestyle has passed down among generations in her family and much more. 
Cowgirls and Equestrians are capable of so many things and as Patti said we have to step up into those roles that will allow us to take action, move our feet, and make changes in the industry that will make it better! I can't wait to see what your thoughts are on this episode!

Hey Cowgirls and Cowboys! 
I have a very cool episode for you this week and one I believe is not only approriate for this time of year, but to discuss the importance of the equine breeding industry and the facilities that truly care for the mares and preserving these bloodlines. Also, showing the excitement for what the future holds for breeding stronger, smarter, and more talents equine athletes! 
Over the past few years, I believe the equine industry has seen a tremendous amount of growth from not only new owners coming in, but with better genetics and breeding techniques facilities like Vista Equine are able to breed better and better horses which as Jake will tell you in the episode comes full circle as it is also making better horsemen as they have to rethink their training methods to train these talented horses.

Hey Everyone! I am so excited to bring you today's episode with Madison Nirenstein or as she is known on TikTok @madisontnequine! I love her videos and her thoughts and opinions on important topics that affect the equine industry, but especially the horse show world. Madison grew up showing on the AQHA circuit, but over the last year she took her mare home and has started learning about the hunter/jumper world, taking jumping lessons, and competing a little bit. What she discovered was she loves to learn new skills as a rider and the knowledge that comes with it! Showing that stepping out of your comfort zone to learn a new discipline or skill can really impact you as a horse owner and rider for the better and open your mind to the many different facets of the horse world!

Holy Cow! Where did the year go?! I can't believe we are already in the last week of 2023 and looking towards 2024!

On Today's episode, I am reviewing some of the episodes I released this year and some of the important topics and ideas I discussed with the amazing guests I invited onto the podcast this year! I have been blown away by their stories and journeys of how they got to where they are and the impact they are making in the equine industry whether it's  through directly working with horses, working with associations, or helping coach equestrian athletes or business owners! Fall is here and before we know it shorter days and colder months are coming!

Hey y'all! I have another great episode that you will love! 
So if you have listened since the beginning or this is your first episode you know that apart of my mission behind starting this show is to promote the industry, but also to help bridge the gap between different disciplines and breeds! When we start out with horses or taking lessons we often start with one way or riding or breed and without even realizing it we can tend to close ourselves off in the bubble at times. I am guilty of that at times as well. However, when we do that that puts in our minds to believe the stereotypes we hear about barrel racers, dressage riders, jumpers, and more. Which only further drives us apart. 

We can grow so much as a horse community when we learn from each other and get curious to learn from someone outside our barn and that can help to bring more new people in!
