Holy Cow! Where did the year go?! I can't believe we are already in the last week of 2023 and looking towards 2024!

On Today's episode, I am reviewing some of the episodes I released this year and some of the important topics and ideas I discussed with the amazing guests I invited onto the podcast this year! I have been blown away by their stories and journeys of how they got to where they are and the impact they are making in the equine industry whether it's  through directly working with horses, working with associations, or helping coach equestrian athletes or business owners! They all are working hard to make sure to educate others and the future generations so the industry can thrive and to bring the horse community together!

Hey y'all!
Fall is here and before we know it shorter days and colder months are coming!
So on today's episode I will be talking about 5 tips that I think will be very helpful to you as you start to think about your winter horse care prep and goal setting to for the rest of the year to be ready to achieve them in the next year!

I think having a plan can really help you to make sure your horses are happy, safe, and healthy all winter long! As I mention in the episode this is a preview for something I am currently working on that I hope to launch in the next month or so! Be on the lookout on my website for that!

Hey y'all! I have another great episode that you will love! 
So if you have listened since the beginning or this is your first episode you know that apart of my mission behind starting this show is to promote the industry, but also to help bridge the gap between different disciplines and breeds! When we start out with horses or taking lessons we often start with one way or riding or breed and without even realizing it we can tend to close ourselves off in the bubble at times. I am guilty of that at times as well. However, when we do that that puts in our minds to believe the stereotypes we hear about barrel racers, dressage riders, jumpers, and more. Which only further drives us apart. 

We can grow so much as a horse community when we learn from each other and get curious to learn from someone outside our barn and that can help to bring more new people in! Well that is exactly part of what I talk about with my amazing guest Lainie Deboer who is an accomplished horsewoman in the hunter/jumper and AQHA circuits! I took away so many thoughts and opinions after seeing The Barbie Movie starring Margot Robbie! It is such a powerful statement that needs to be made in 2023 and I have seen the reviews from those who have closed their minds to the views Greta Gerwig worked hard to try and show in this movie and unfortunately their are those who don't see that! However, I see a lot of parallels between women in the horse industry and the commentary this movie was trying to make about how we as women are seen in this world! 

• Although, we see a lot of women working and riding in this world we still get overshadowed by men!
• We have come along way in society as women in terms of career and life, but we struggle to be taken seriously and been seen as more than horse crazy little girls!
• Barbie movie showed us that it is okay to be seen as a professional, but to enjoy the freedom and beauty of being a woman without the pressures to be put into a box men like to put us in! 
• Anyone who says that this movie isn't a true representation of  women in society today needs to watch it again with and really listen to what they are saying!
• This movie also inspired me about how I found my niche for how I want to promote my podcast and the horse industry and stand out among the other equine podcasts!

Hey Cowgirls! I have a back to back episode for you today! 

I am very excited to share today's episode with you as I am talking about a topic that I am very passionate about in my life and that is judging! I love that I got to have a conversation about it with Patti Carter the Sr. Director of Education & Officials at NRHA (National Reining Horse Association). This week's episode I had the opportunity to talk with someone who is very passionate about improving the equine industry for the better and making horses more accessible to the general public whether from the APHA office or at shows! He talks about the importance of finding new ways to do better by our owners, exhibitors, and the community around us. I took so much away from my conversation with Billy Smith the Executive Director of the American Paint Horse Association! He really gets the bigger picture that if we find ways to get more education about horses out to the public, it will help everyone from the kids just starting out to our legislators in office creating laws that impact the industry!
