The 4-Nations Faceoff took a toll on VGK and other star NHL players.  While it increased international hockey interest, it left key players injured or worn down in the latter part of the season.   The Golden Knights lost Shea Theodore to a broken wrist.  They also saw Mark Stone and Jack Eichel miss games later in the season.  Other teams lost top players.
