The Element Hunting Podcast

The Hunting SZN will be here before you know it! We all wish we were more prepared, but lets be honest; This is the real world we're living in. We felt like there were a few things we needed to clear up to make us more proficient archery hunters, so we called up the experts to learn as much as we could. Just so happens we recorded the convos so we can all learn together!

Late this summer we went on some scouting trips that were quite pleasant! We're talking sweet tea sippin', loud joke telling, ultra-effective truck scouting in the 80 degree temps of Texas. You heard it right, we were scouting at night using thermal imagery borrowed from a few different friends! This is an incredible new tool for use to us hard-core whitetailers and in this episode, we lay out the potential uses and efficacy as well as some things to be careful about in scouting with this killer new technology.

Watch as we utilize thermal imagery to find big bucks! CLICK HERE!

Kyle Bennett became a good buddy from day one at the Quality Deer Management Association's national convention in 2018 in New Orleans as he led us through antics of an overwhelming Bourbon Street on a mission to find unbelievably good and authentic gumbo and etouffee! Kyle lives in Louisiana (Geaux Tigers!) and hunts and manages property in Mississippi so this is an interesting chat with our neighbor and brother here in the south.

Last one y'all, and were going out with a bang! Jay Scott has taught me more about western hunting through his podcast than possibly any other media source. He is a great sportsman and a gentleman. It was very cool to get to talk to him for quite a while about all things backcountry hunting.

BRIAN BRODERICK of Day Six Specialty Gear.

Day Six is a company that has developed from necessity. Brian Broderick didn't have the tools he needed to hunt how he wanted, so he decided to make them. He grew up in the south, has hunted all over the west, and has been to The Dark Continent with a stick and string. After all that, those cracked-out southern Whitetails are what still get him going.

Check out the arrows that K.C. will be shooting this season:

We are giving away a pair of Vortex Binoculars! Listen for how to win!

We are always looking for a way to go in lighter, faster, and quieter. We have talked quite a lot over the past few years about the idea of saddle hunting. It all makes sense, but is it going to be like wearing a tight diaper and hunting all day in it?

Drew Walter of Wild Edge Inc. has developed a system that he believes in for this exact approach. He lets us quiz him all about saddle hunting, even entertaining our slightly dumb questions. He has been doing this for quite a while and has killed some really great bucks while hanging from a rope. There are a few tricks to it, but it sounds like a viable option for any hunter who wants to be fast, quiet, and mobile.

Check out all the Wild Edge Inc. equipment!
