Car troubles can't keep us down! We both have vehicles that are limping pretty bad after a long hunting season. However, there are cameras all over the midwest that need to be checked and the good days of post season scouting are numbered. We are on a grande loop around the heartland to scout a ton of public land. Hopefully our cameras are working well and not stolen.
Today we talk tactics for finding toads on public land, evaluating the potential of a property, and how we are going to get to these properties.
Be sure to mark your calendars for the Texas BHA Pint Night at Legal Draft Beer Co. The event will take place Feb. 17th, starting at 2pm. Come hang out and get to know some of your fellow public land hunters. Also, bring your inquizitive minds because us and the fellas from Storm Water Creek will be recording a live podcast and fielding questions from the audience.
Be sure and leave us a iTunes REVIEW if you havent yet! ;)

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year! After a lot of celebrating and fellowship over the holidays, we made a hard push at the end of the season on Texas Public Land. Today on the show we discuss our recent hunts and how smart/ill-advised some of our moves were. Ultimately we were unable to punch a tag on public land in the Lone Star State. However, we were blessed with many oppourtunities and close calls. Some we made the right choices, other choices we are forced to live with. One thing is for certain; we will be counting the days until the 2018 deer season.
Early in this episode we discuss some of the cool hunting-related Christmas gifts we recieved and how they have worked for us in the past few weeks. Topics include hunting boots, knives, and warm clothing.
Later, we talk in depth about our last deer hunt of the season together. We pushed hard and it paid of with a ton of deer sightings, getting a good look at a toad six-point, and almost getting to release an arrow!
We've both got a few hunts still before the weather gets warm. K.C. is headed south to do some doe tagging and Tyler is headed north in pursuit of things that honk and quack. Look for more on how these hunts go on our social media pages.

On the way to a new piece of public, we discuss general and late season tactics. We are doing a lot of scattershooting and, quite frankly, it's for good reason. We enjoyed some great success so far this season, but we are starting to feel the pressure. It's December and neither of us have put a Texas buck on the ground yet. It's crunch time!
Luckily, while the rest of the country is talking bed to feed and hard hunting, us in the south are privileged to see rutting action all the way through the end of season. In this episode we talk strategy for the current hunt we are headed out on, as well as the rest of the season.
