Are you a business owner who keeps their failures close to the vest? Are you afraid to vocalize the things that have gone wrong?
When Chrystal pitched her Embodiment Body program, she was devastated when no one purchased it. After putting in a lot of time and effort, it is very understandable that the results of that endeavor could be disappointing. However, Chrystal also understands that failure is a part of life and does not define her or her work. Ultimately, our missteps can teach us a lot about ourselves and bring the clarity we need to move forward with our goals.
Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a vulnerable conversation on failure. Learn more about what went wrong with pitching Chrystal’s Embodiment Body course, why business owners are afraid to share their mistakes, and how our failures do not define us.
Quotes
• “I think a lot of business owners and coaches may not share when they're in the thick of their shit because it's a very vulnerable place to be and it's really hard to communicate.” (8:34 - 8:42)
• “I believe that whether it’s time, money, or commitment, you figure it out if it's something that you desire.” (13:58 - 14:07)
• “What I do know is who I am and what I have to offer and how good it is. I can't feel bad. It's hard to feel bad when I know, in my heart, how good everything is that I put out there.” (25:20 - 25:40)
• “Let's take more time to take care of ourselves. Let's get more into our self-care, physical health, and physical body. Let's do more of that because that feels really good.” (30:19 - 30:29)
• “Just because something doesn't work out, it doesn't say anything about me. It's not about me as a person. I know who I am and I know what I have to offer. And sometimes things just don't work.” (31:15 - 31:29)
• “Just keep in mind as you have ups and downs in your life, whether it be your personal life or your business or your job, just know it is not finite. It is not the end. It is not the be-all-end-all. We get to learn from these things, and we get to grow from them. And we get to do better next time and every time thereafter.” (33:08 - 33:27)

“This was the piece that I brought as a coach. I can go into those rooms and bring a new idea or approach to maybe something they had forgotten about themselves,” says Elena Armijo, Founder of the C-SUITE COLLECTIVE. After working as a Professional Certified Coach for years, Elena launched her half a million dollar company toward the end of the pandemic. With the C-SUITE COLLECTIVE, Elena supports women in the workforce by providing them with the resources they need to succeed professionally and change the workplace from the inside out.
When Elena first began coaching, she assumed she would work best with creatives, as she came from an opera background. However, she found she worked best with corporate professionals because she could reinvigorate their sense of creativity. Now, Elena is motivated to inspire workplaces to become more inclusive and diverse and provide coaching to marginalized groups who may never have had access to that type of support before.
Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for an inspiring conversation on coaching in the corporate world and career transitions. Learn more about Elena’s journey from opera singing to coaching, how she fell in love with diversity and inclusion work, and how the pandemic has shifted our views on workplace culture.

• “What I found is that with upper-level management or middle-level management, I would bring a boldness that was welcomed because everybody is bold and driven in those spaces. But they'd forgotten their creative edge. This was the piece that I brought as a coach. I can go into those rooms and bring a new idea or approach to maybe something they had forgotten about themselves." (13:21 - 13:54 | Elena)
• “If you're gonna be a good leader, it's not just about being like, “Follow me, you know, leading the way.” You got to be open to feedback, and then you got to be open to making mistakes.” (26:55 - 27:06 | Chrystal)

Do you have a clear vision for your life? Are you honest with yourself about what you want?
Chrystal recognizes that we are conditioned to hustle even when we hate what we’re doing. We often ignore our intuition and push ourselves, which only gets us farther from our goals. By being truthful about who we are and having a firm idea of what we want, we can attract the opportunities that give us fulfillment. Ultimately, if we can’t be the people we want to be today, we can still put in the groundwork to be our best selves.
Tune into today’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a direct conversation on pursuing your purpose. Learn why you should be clear about your desires, the importance of listening to your instincts, and how working on who you are inside will lead you to the life you want.
Quotes
• “I love easy now. I am no longer interested or available for difficult when it comes to business, work, life, none of it. Not in 2022. That's for damn sure.” (7:32 - 7:44)
• “My vision was to be able to help people with my work. I wanted to dedicate my life's work to helping others, whether to help other people overcome trauma, or overcome self-sabotaging behaviors.” (12:01 - 12:27)
• “The way that you make shit happen is by being available for it and being an open, clear vessel who knows exactly what you want.” (20:00 - 20:12)
• “If we want to get to our vision, we have to listen to our body, and we have to listen to that quiet intuition that says, ‘Hell yes, this is the thing,’ not our brain trying to hack how to make it happen faster.” (21:03 - 21:18)
• “We are making shit happen by being who we need to be. So, when it shows up, we're ready to go.” (23:30 - 23:37)
• “It's not about forcing, and it's not about pushing. It's about attracting. You attract by being the person who is game for this vision and becoming the person who is just living it. And if that person is not you today, that's what we need to work on.” (29:00 - 29:17)

“I kind of just innately knew that through Pilates, I was going to be able to feel better in my body,” says Caitlin Sullivan, a Certified Pilates Instructor and Holistic Hormone Health Coach. Beginning her career as a professional ballet dancer, Caitlin did not always love Pilates. After taking lessons from her ballet teacher, she finally started to appreciate the benefits of the practice leading her to create the menstrual and adrenal health program, The Spring to Life Method.
Caitlin recognizes that many women put pressure on themselves to work out every day in the hopes of becoming skinny or seeing massive fitness results. However, excessive strenuous workouts can lead to hormonal imbalances, adrenal fatigue, and burnout. Deeply understanding the complicated relationship we have with our bodies, Caitlin uses Pilates techniques and hormone health coaching to teach women that they’re allowed to go easy on themselves and to prioritize feeling better about their bodies.
Tune into this week’s episode of Self-love for Breakfast for a sensitive conversation on feeling good in your body. Learn more about Caitlin’s transition from ballet dancer to Pilates instructor, tailoring your workout to your menstrual cycle, and how to find contentment in your body at every stage of your fitness journey.

• “I decided to jump on ClassPass one day, and I got in this class just down the road at a different studio I'd never heard about before. And it just completely changed my life because the studio is a classical studio, which is more of the Pilates method. And within a couple of sessions with the teacher here who became my mentor, I felt completely different in my upper back, and I could move without pain. I started building strength and releasing some tension, and I knew that this was the route that I needed to go down.” (14:02 - 14:37 | Caitlin)
• “Physical fitness is really about going inward and creating this communication within your body, and learning how to find balance and feel good.” (16:43 - 16:54 | Caitlin)
• “The key is to find fulfillment, happiness, and contentment in your body now. Then, as you continue the process, things shift and change. That's okay. And it's okay to want that.” (18:07 - 18:21 | Chrystal)
• “You don't always need to be pushing hard to get the best results that you're looking for to feel good.” (28:26 - 28:33 | Caitlin)
• “I know how you start to feel victimized by your own body. But the moment that you take control of it and say, ‘This is not acceptable for me anymore,’ that's when you start to make changes and feel better.” (32:55 - 33:11 | Caitlin)

Are you afraid to step away from the things you are used to doing but no longer make you happy? Are you concerned that making a change means “changing” who you are? Deb McCollum returns for a girlfriend chat about permitting yourself to grow as a person.
Often, we believe that we cannot adjust our goals or our lifestyles. Whether it's a relationship, friendship, or profession, we are worried that people will judge us if we shift gears. By reflecting on the times they made significant life changes, Deb and Chrystal remind their viewers that even if your evolution disappoints someone you care about, the only person you have to please is yourself.
Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a thoughtful discussion on personal evolution. Learn how to walk away from the things that don’t serve you, find value in your struggles, and pursue the things that bring you joy.
Quotes
• “There's something to be said about going through the struggle, and going through it and seeing what comes out the other side.” (12:28 - 12:34 | Deb)
• “I've been in the personal development space for over a decade. It's just been a different vehicle each time, but my passion is the same.” (14:00 - 14:07 | Chrystal)
• “Some people are afraid to change who they are. They think, “Oh, I'm changing who I am.” No, you're not changing who you are. You're going to evolve.” (15:18 - 15:30 | Deb)
• “What I want people to take away is permission. Permission to let go and to release what is no longer serving you, and to have the courage to pursue the things that light you up.” (17:20 - 17:29 | Chrystal)
• “I know I'm disappointing somebody, but I'm evolving to where I want to do things that are better served for me.” (30:36 - 30:43 | Deb)
• “Why not evolve? It doesn't matter anyway. There are always people who will have different viewpoints of who you are, how they think you should be, and how they think of you in their mind. So why not evolve? Because all that's going to matter is how you feel about yourself. Why not do what makes you happy?” (33:02 - 33:20 | Deb)

“Taking time for self-care is extremely important, as is understanding what that looks like for you,” says Martika Shanel, Author, and Speaker. After her divorce, Martika took a step back and reassessed her part in her relationship’s end. After experiencing exponential self-growth, Martika wrote her book What to Do with These Red Flags, which demonstrates the value of self-love when cultivating healthy relationships.
Martika recognizes that your partner grows and changes over time, just like you. As a result, it is crucial to communicate honestly with your partner about your needs in addition to theirs. Although not all relationships are built to last, Martika reminds the audience that break-ups are a great time to evaluate your wants, focus on self-care, and learn new things about yourself.
Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a caring conversation on love and relationships. Learn more about Martika’s inspiration for her book, how relationships can grow and change, and the importance of self-discovery regardless of your relationship status.

• “Go find yourself. Discover yourself. There's nothing wrong with getting into a relationship and getting it wrong sooner. We've all been there. But why go through the hassle and the heartache if you just take the time to sit with yourself and experience yourself?” (27:04 - 27:24 | Martika)
