  • [Interview] Figuring It Out Together with Kacia Fitzgerald

“It's so important not to compare yourself to a prior version of yourself when the circumstances are different,” says Kacia Fitzgerald, Founder of She Goes Company, Speaker & Podcaster. When Kacia first started her podcast, Empower Her, she wanted to reach high-achieving women and let them know it’s ok not to be perfect. Now, Kacia works to remind women that they’re all in it together, celebrating the importance of community and the journey.

Kacia understands that people need time to grow before they reach success. As much as we may feel that we have to achieve our goals quickly, we forget that the skills acquired along the way make us ready for the next step. Instead of lamenting that we aren’t where we want to be yet, Chrystal and Kacia remind the listeners that it’s ok to celebrate the baby steps and trust that everything will fall into place.

Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a positive conversation on working towards your goals. Learn more about Kacia’s entrepreneurial journey, the different lessons you learn from different stages, and how it’s ok to be a multi-passionate woman.

    Quotes

    •  “It's so important not to compare yourself to a prior version of yourself when the circumstances are different. Because the success and your criteria for success will look different depending upon where you're at.”  (19:07 - 19:20 | Kacia)

    •  “Some things suck right now. Yes. But you still have so much wisdom, lessons, understanding, and growth compared to that version of you who maybe looked a little better in a bikini. Or maybe was making a little bit more money or something.” (20:39 - 20:56 | Chyrstal)

    •  “Exactly where you are right now is teaching you exactly what you need. You're just going to need to keep taking baby steps in the right direction and know that that will still get you there.” (25:08 - 25:18 | Kacia)

    •  “My target demographic is not going to connect with someone that is only putting out one type of content because she wants to see the variety of that person. So my niche is another multi-passionate person.”  (34:42 - 34:53 | Kacia)

    •  “A form of eating self-love for breakfast is prioritizing myself. Not just giving that lip service. But thinking what do I actually need to do to feel the best because I deserve that. And that way, I can show up better throughout the day.”  (43:59 - 44:13 | Kacia)

  • [Solo Sesh] Not Everyone Has to Like You

Do you take it personally when someone doesn't like you? Do you find yourself annoyed by people who remind you too much of yourself?

On Chrystal’s recent Italy retreat, she had an incredible time with the clients who accompanied her. However, one woman didn’t seem to enjoy Chrystal’s presence at all. Instead of being offended by this woman’s negative behavior, Chrystal recognized that happy and healed people do not treat others poorly. By reminding her audience to look inward when someone triggers you, she encourages us to realize that this disdain could have nothing to do with the other person, but entirely with ourselves.

Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a healthy conversation on accepting when someone doesn’t like you. Learn more about the two main reasons for disliking someone, why you shouldn’t water yourself down for others, and how lashing out is a symptom of our deep-rooted insecurities.

    Quotes

    •  “Even when a person is outright lashing out at you, it's not really about you.” (13:51 - 13:56)

    •  “It's so cool not to give a shit when someone doesn't like you.” (26:40 - 26:43)

  • [Solo Sesh] Digging Into “Toxic Positivity”

Have you heard the term “toxic positivity” but are unsure what it means? Do you find yourself in a never-ending negative feedback loop?

Host Chrystal recognizes that bypassing your anxiety and depression is a form of toxic positivity. However, allowing yourself to give in to your worst feelings without attempts to move forward can trap you in a permanent state of negativity. Ultimately, if we honor our emotions, whether good or bad, we can learn to let go and attract the life we’ve always wanted and deserve.

Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for a truthful conversation about toxic positivity. Learn more about the difference between honoring your feelings and a negative feedback loop, the power of our subconscious, and how having a better life is possible if we believe it.

    Quotes

    •  “If you're in a negative feedback loop, you're not really feeling your feelings, you're feeling a story.” (6:23 - 6:28)

    •  “If we want to feel better, grow, and move onward, we need to let it go. And the only way to truly let it go is to feel it and let it be there. Meet it with love, sit with it as long as it needs to be there, and then release, surrender, and let it go.” (7:09 - 7:26)

    •  “There's a big difference between someone who is honoring their feelings and someone who is toxic and negative. Negativity and sadness are not the same. Negativity and anger are not the same. Negativity is a refusal to get out of it. Negativity is a refusal to move through the feeling.” (11:06 - 11:38)

    •  “Your reality is a direct reflection of your subconscious. Your reality is a direct reflection of your belief system.” (16:09 - 16:18)

    •  “If I decide that the better life gets, the better it gets, then it's going to keep getting better.” (17:16 - 17:24)

    •  “Everything you have or don't have in your life is a direct reflection of how you feel on the inside. And if you are working towards things and you don't have them yet, they're coming. If you believe they're coming.” (20:35 - 20:49)

Are you a strong woman who others call “intimidating?” Are you afraid to stand in your power? For today’s girlfriend chat, Chrystal shares an episode of Deb’s podcast, Not Here To Judge, where they discuss the “alpha female” type. Many women will stray away from seeming alpha because they don’t want to seem off-putting. Or they believe they have to act overtly masculine to be considered strong. • [Solo Sesh] Enjoying The Process

Do you struggle to appreciate your milestones? Do you focus too much on where you want to be versus where you are?

In honor of Self-Love for Breakfast’s 60,000th download, host Chrystal explains why you should celebrate your journey to success as much as the destination. As an ambitious woman, Chrystal understands the pressure we put on ourselves to get to where we want to be. We often forget to appreciate the small things and then automatically move the target when we achieve our goals. However, if we honor the milestones along the way, we can enjoy the present and every stage of our lives.

Tune into this week’s episode of Self-Love for Breakfast for an uplifting conversation on self-appreciation. Learn more about Chrystal’s podcast goals, why you shouldn’t put yourself in a box, and how to give yourself the gratitude you deserve.

    Quotes

    •  “Many social media and marketing experts will tell you my biggest mistake is that I do not have a niche. I don't like the idea of putting yourself in a box. I don't like the idea of putting myself in a box. I don’t think that benefits either of us. And if that means that I'm slower to success with my podcast, so be it.” (5:13 - 5:44)

    •  “I get to decide, and so do you. When we're talking about getting to where we want to go, we get discouraged that we're not “there.” But I will tell you, when you get there, it's not going to feel the way that you want it to feel if you don't do the work to be here today.” (6:19 - 6:43)

    •  “When you get to where you want to go, the targets have already moved. This is why it's so crucial to celebrate. This is why it's crucial to enjoy this journey as if it were the destination.” (10:05 - 10:18)

    •  “Celebrate every damn thing in your business that's good. Even if it feels silly.” (11:23 - 11:29)

    •  “You owe it to yourself to celebrate every day if you can—something small, something big, something medium. You owe it to yourself because when you get to the big thing and are not used to celebrating, you're not going to celebrate it. You're not going to give it what it deserves.” (21:15- 21:35)

    • “Maybe we're attracting a bunch of people, but we zoned in on the person who is wrong for us and is exactly the kind of person we have been getting.” (15:18 - 15:29)

    • “I know how easy it is to get sucked in by someone. You will listen to everything and anything that they say.” (20:08 - 20:14)

    • “First comes the manipulation, and then comes the gaslighting. And the gaslighting is what alters reality.” (22:00 - 22:09)
