Welcome to this week’s Express Tip on the Entrepreneur Evolution Podcast. Here is a question I want you to ask yourself the next time you are at your desk and feeling overwhelmed or stuck in your business. The question is “who’s job am I doing now?” The next time you go to do a task or something in your business, you have to ask yourself, “who’s job am I doing now?” If it’s your job and you’re doing it, then that’s great. But if it’s a job that could be for an assistant, a bookkeeper, a social media manager, or a sales person, you need to start identifying who those people are around you because there’s a good chance you are doing more than you should be doing. You grow and you scale by delegating. Leadership is getting things done through others. When you are having those moments when you feel like you are panicking or rushing or wanting to pull your hair out, ask yourself that question - “who’s job am I doing now?” As you make note of the things you are doing that you should be delegating, you are identifying all the aspects of a job description you will need when you are looking for your next best hire. Oftentimes we don’t even know what we need next, but when we start to pay attention to it in the thick of things that’s when we can make huge progress in our business. So “who’s job am I doing now?” Ask yourself that question, start paying attention to it, begin making lists for what you need and watch those things develop into your next hire. Welcome to this week’s Entrepreneur Express Tip! This tip is about entrepreneur patterns. As I am coaching business owners, I see patterns and it’s interesting how the patterns unfold and how they are uniquely similar with various different business owners - whether you are male or female, have a newer or existing company, or have a small team or large team. No matter the business I see trends and patterns unfold and a lot of times it has to do with the business owner’s mindset. The good times are very good and the bad times are very bad. The patterns are out there and once we can identify the patterns and narrow in on what specifically is going on with you as a business owner then we can identify if this is something happening universally with business owners. Once we can narrow in on what the issue is, we can make huge progress and that's when your business really scales. Oftentimes these patterns arise from things like confidence, identity crisis, self-doubt, or team development and those are the things I help you work through. I want you to identify what you think the pattern is that you are witnessing in your business and chances are you are not alone and other businesses are going through it as well. Please reach out for a conversation because being able to have conversations with objective viewpoints is when clarity happens and scalability happens. You might think you are experiencing something alone, but it’s most likely a trend and a lot of other business owners are experiencing the same things you are. Call yourself out, look yourself in the mirror and ask yourself what is the pattern I am in right now and how can I have that breakthrough.

Welcome to this week’s Entrepreneur Express Tip - we are happy you are here! Today we are talking about happiness and happiness is the difference between our expectations and reality. Oftentimes we set huge expectations and reality oftentimes will not live up to those expectations in our head and that’s where disappointment comes in and where people’s level of happiness can really differ. I want you to think about this because we are in control of our happiness. Some people are naturally wired to be happier and have a more positive mindset than others, while some can be more negative or pensive in their approach with things. How you are wired is the way you are wired - nothing is right, wrong or different here and nobody is perfect. We are all wired differently and that’s a good thing. I want you to think about what I’m saying - happiness is the difference between expectations and reality. The less expectations we have in our head, the less pressure we put on a situation, the less we overthink things, the better. This speaks to going with the flow of things and being more in the moment than having these huge situations growing in our heads about something coming in the near future. Happiness is the difference between our expectations and reality. If we let things happen the way that they should and we trust we are making good decisions, surrounding ourselves with good people and doing the right thing then we do not need to make things bigger in our head than they need to be. Happiness is what we can control. We can set those expectations on a very basic level and let reality unfold. The trust in yourself is where happiness can unfold and you can be present with the things that are happening and meant to happen. It’s a powerful thing to understand you are in control of your happiness, but when we start to swirl and make things more monumental than they need to be, that's when we can get let down. Even when reality is serving us really well we can get disappointed because our expectations were more than they should have been. I know that’s a big topic to talk about and we could really talk about it for much longer, but I want to know about your level of happiness and where you are checking in with reality versus these huge expectations we put on ourselves.

Welcome to this week’s Entrepreneur Express Tip. Today we are talking about conquering the overwhelm. Overwhelm sounds like an overwhelming word - it’s a big word and many people process at different speeds, in different ways and go about things with different strategies. Sometimes when the overwhelm is happening we are swirling in our own thoughts and the best advice I can give to help conquer the overwhelm is to simply take out a piece of paper and a pen and brain dump everything down onto the paper. Write down everything in your head, whether it is about getting a new dog bed for your dog, running to the grocery store for tonight’s dinner, reaching out to a new client you really want to land or hiring a new bookkeeper. Whatever is in your head, whether it is work-related, family-related or an errand, write it down on that piece of paper. From there, highlight the top priorities - I would challenge you to only highlight three or four items, maximum five items. Now you can go through and start with those small things. Once you take action you will feel better and the overwhelm will go away - I promise you. Trust me, I am an entrepreneur just like you and I see the common mindset challenges we all face and overwhelm is at the top of that list. So take out that piece of paper and pen, brain dump and highlight the top things you need to get started with - action will help you. Keep evolving entrepreneur - I promise you I see you, I get you and you are not alone. You are doing it! Progress can feel like a range of emotions - it can feel like an amazing high or sometimes it feels like you are stalling and don’t know which way to go. Every day is different and that’s why we do this. You are doing this and you can do this so keep it going. I’m really proud of you, keep going and I will see you soon.

Welcome to this week’s episode of the Entrepreneur Evolution Podcast. Today we are talking about the small tweaks. It is really important - especially during these seasonal changes - to make sure we are taking a closer look at everything in our business. Sometimes to grow and scale we need to get back in the weeds a little bit. I’m not saying to stay there, but do go back in and re-examine certain aspects of your business. There are always improvements in our systems and processes that can be made. As I record this, we are shifting from summer to fall. Take a look at the smaller things in your business. Where can you make a small tweak? For example, some softwares have workflows and automations. If you have laid a great foundation, ask yourself what the next step is. How can you improve on the next step? Where can you tweak? This is a great thing to task your executive assistant, virtual assistant, or your team. Where can we make small tweaks to improve and make a better workflow. So I encourage you to go back in the weeds, don’t get stuck there, but ask your team these questions.
