Emotional stress: Especially as a business owner and entrepreneur, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with stress. Whether you’re taking care of your employees, hitting the business metrics, or you’re handling the internal and external pressure of doing it all, stress can overwhelm you emotionally.
Physical stress: Maybe you’re not sleeping enough, your energy is low and you’re working 12-15-hour days. You just forget to take care of your physical health. You have a poor diet and you don’t exercise.
Chemical stress: This includes eating processed foods packed with chemicals and toxins as well as the use of standard cleaning and personal care products that are adding a toxic burden onto your body.
When all of those things accumulate, this leads to pain, mood disorders, and chronic health issues. Then everything just goes downhill from there. You can't have abundant health if you're not addressing these areas. You have to take care of your health first before you can take care of other people.
[20:48] How to Change the Way Your Family Eats
The first step is to learn what's in your food, where's it coming from, and whether it’s a healthy source. Then ask yourself, is eating this going to give you more life, or is it going to take away from your life?
Cut down on sugar, snacks, and processed foods and start looking for healthier meats, more natural meats, more organic foods, and non-GMOs. Move more towards plant-based foods, healthy fats, and quality proteins. Have a plan and guidance for how to do that.
Switch your mindset from “there’s nothing you can do to change your health outcomes” to “you have amazing control over what your body does.”
Surround yourself with like-minded people who are going in a similar direction as you.
Educate your kids on what's good and what's bad, and clearly explain to them why you predominantly eat at home, and why you take supplements or eat a certain way. Don’t just restrict them without teaching them why it's important to live a certain way and why you do what you do.
