It’s all in the mind. If you think about storytelling as the icing on your cake, it will feel less of an uphill struggle and more of a gentle meander to a place you really want to visit.
Here are 3 tips to help you sprinkle a few stories here and there:
Talk directly to your audience and the needs you know they have. This will make them feel seen and heard. If you don’t know who your audience are or what they need - do this, quick stat.
Use a really simple storytelling structure - like once upon a time - or even re-write a popular story like a fairy tale or a movie you’ve watched at the weekend as if you’re customer was the main character…and you were a Yoda-type character guiding them on their journey.
Think about the words you use and trying adding in some more emotional or sensory words, describe how things feel, taste, sound, smell as well as just the obvious descriptors to help your audience create a mental picture.
