This week we "wing it" as we reflect, and reset after a whirlwind of a few months.
this podcast has become such an outlet, exciting chapter and great means of connection but we wanted to go back and see how we have changed since starting it. Better yet- we wanted to set NEW goals and have this community keep us accountable.

Today’s guest is an extraordinary woman in our community. She counts her many faceted roles as: daughter, student, human resources professional, wife, mother of 4 amazing (now adult) children, a parent education facilitator/supervisor, a school board trustee, and most recently she has begun writing a blog. The title of her blog, which we love, is “My Life’s a Dance...And I’m Learning as I Go”. Her journey, wisdom, positivity and kindness have inspired us...and since January 2018, Carol has released 100 pounds. In doing so she has also seen changes and growth in her physical expressions. She has become more physically active, she has begun to express herself with clothing that she felt wasn’t available to her in a bigger body, and last but not least has gained a healthy relationship with food. Her approach and journey of self love and how ultimately that was her key to living the life she wants to live is inspiring and we are so excited to have her chat with us this week.

The truth is we can’t talk about our “physical” selves without acknowledging the connection between the mind and the body.
Did you know that our mental and conscious states, including our emotions and behaviours, have the ability to significantly influence our physical health outcomes, and reciprocally, our bodily physical health can impact our mental well-being. This is referred to as the “mind-body connection” – the interconnectedness of our minds and bodies through various communication networks between our brain and the neurological, endocrine, and immune systems of our body.
As we mentioned last week one of our 5 recommended modes of physical expression was called “Mindfulness in Motion”. The way we see it, is that the more we understand ourselves, then the more we can understand our bodies...and vice versa.
This week We sit down with Emily Bridle, who is a passionate physical movement and expression specialist, ecologist, and owner of the Toronto & Muskoka based business SheWork.
She answers some of our pressing mid/body questions and gives us insight into the benefits of making this practice a part of our daily lives.

This week we are continuing our conversation around "Home" by welcoming our SECOND PODCAST GUEST!
When we knew that this month's theme was going to be about home and how home can be a safe place for expression, a place to inspire you and an expression of you in itself- we KNEW we wanted to talk to Tim. He is a friend, a cast mate of shows past, and a Certified Konmari Consultant. Which means he is an expert in decluttering & creative problem solving.
He talks to us this week about helping you transform the look and function of the spaces you use every day, clearing the physical and emotional blocks that hold you back from experiencing the life you truly want to live. You know Marie Kondo ? The author of the best selling book : The life-changing magic of tidying up? Had a Netflix show that came out 2 years ago and had us all running for our closets to get rid of things that didn’t spark joy? Ya. He’s and expert on her methods AND he is here today to talk about all this and more.
Last week we talked about expressing your creativity and personality and creating a sacred space within your physical home... and it got us thinking. "How can we also create that sacred ‘feeling’ of home not only in our hearts, but in our communities and our world?"
This week we are talking about how having a strong and healthy sense of “home” can be a grounding and supportive thing. How it can bring us peace and help us spread kindness and build the awareness we all need as we continue to show up to tough conversations. As we continue to read and listen and question our own ingrained biases. We want to be building homes without fences, without fear, and with KINDNESS.

So within our home there are obviously rooms that have specific purposes. Bathroom, kitchen, playroom etc. But our big question for all of you listening is “ Do you have a sacred space of your OWN?" For a lot of us, that place is somewhere to unwind, relax, regroup or reflect on the day- a place to do your inner work.
We think this can also be a creative place! Especially for artists but also... for us all. When we have that space that inspires us we can often express with energy and focus. We're talking about a space that is YOURS, that SERVES you and helps you GET to that place of expression.
This sacred space could be a kitchen, an office, a bedroom, a yoga studio, a cozy corner, the garden ect.
But I am not sure I have one right now. And maybe some of you feel the same.
This week we are delving into why having a sacred place is important and how you can take steps towards creating that space for yourself...and on a budget. In fact its an act of expression in itself to create that room that represents and inspires you!

This is a time in history when we are using our social platforms to create community and build our villages virtually. At the same time we are expressing ourselves through these mediums. Unfortunately, this isn’t always easy, nor is it always met with kindness- especially for women and people who belong to marginalized communities. Through events in the media, this week has shone a bright light on what it means to have a voice when discussing our personal struggles as women and the weight of having someone or anyone listen.
These are BIG and HARD conversations. What trips so many of us up is the fear that we’ll get it wrong or worse - offend someone. We also feel protective of our own stories. We are NOT asking you to give up your personal expression, but we are asking you to learn with us and educate yourself, about what can we do to be better or how can we be more aware today?
This week we welcome our FIRST GUEST ; Allison Holder to talk about her experience within her communities and #passthemic to her to enlighten us on her experiences.
There is research that shows a very strong link between being kind to others and being healthy and well yourself.
It's no big secret that you get what you give in this world. Good things happen to good people; it's just the Universe's way. So, If we were given the chance to be kind over being cruel, why wouldn't we kill 'em with kindness every single time?
With that in mind, we thought that sharing some small ways to show kindness to others would be a great way to help us all enter this next season with positive minds and full hearts from the happiness that showing care to others can bring. So this week we are exploring 5 THINGS we can do to Be Kind to Others…
