Bad parenting isn't a new thing. You can even find examples in the bible. Who but a bad parent would be willing to let their child get cut in half? Of course that woman wasn't actually the parent, but let's just say she was because otherwise my point makes no sense. Anyway, you could think of mayors as the parents of a city, and there are a lot of bad ones of those too. Crime is up, parenting is down. We're sparing the rod and spoiling the child, except in this case it's not so much a child as hundreds of thousands of armed gang members.
