The latest Federal Reserve meeting resulted in a pause in interest rates. However, the Fed also signaled one more interest rate hike in 2023 and very few cuts in 2024. This means SCHD and the stock market will likely be pretty sluggish in 2024 when borrowing will still be very expensive. SCHD holds 100+ of the best blue chip companies in the market and that often dominate their sectors. Higher interest rates are typically correlated with less economic expansion.
