The Treasury Department kept and recovered billions of dollars from fraudsters this year. It’s using artificial intelligence tools to flag some potentially fraudulent payments. It’s also looking to make sure more agencies have access to the kinds of data sets that can prevent fraud. Treasury expects these efforts will prevent billions more in improper payments.
