The Longhorns have made their way to the first and only bye week of the season and it couldn't have come at a better time with Texas entering the bye coming off back-to-back losses to Top 25 ranked teams.
The Flagship Podcast gets the week started off with a loaded show as Horns247 columnist Chip Brown and managing editor Taylor Estes discuss what Steve Sarkisian had to say about his team as they make their way through the bye week on the schedule. The Flagship weighs in on some of the key areas of focus for Texas this week, including getting the Longhorns back on track from a mental standpoint after dropping third quarter leads in back-to-back games, which ended in losses. Sarkisian addressed the team's mental focus and how the coaching staff intends to correct the psyche of the team to get them ready for the final five games of the regular season starting next Saturday at Baylor.
The Flagship also weighs in on some of the personnel questions Texas is facing after seven games of the season and if a schematic change, particularly on defense, could be the solution to help the Longhorns down the stretch of Big 12 play.
After a short break, The Flagship returns with our 'Love it or leave it' segment, with this week's topics focused on if the psyche of the team is correctable by Sarkisian and his staff, adjustments that need to be made during the bye week and the biggest surprises so far in Big 12 Conference play at the mid-point of the 2021 season.
