God is faithful. He always supplies our needs. Grace motivated giving is the way to go. You give motivated by the grace of God. There is also false motivation for giving - you have to be careful about that. To understand that, you must remember that we live in the Church Age, we do not live in the age of Israel. That's the first thing we must get clear. We have to distinguish between tithing (what they did in the Old Testament) and giving. Did God command Israel to bring tithes to the temple? Yes. To support the priest? Yes. That was a form of taxation and everybody in Israel paid it. Not just the redeemed but even the unredeemed. Not just believers but unbelievers.

If God is in it, God will pay for it.

Giving is a commemoration of grace since God the Father gave His Son as the ultimate gift to humanity.

As we recognize God's grace in our own lives then we give on the basis of our attitude from the Word of God in our soul. It is the Word of God in our soul that motivates us, that enlightens us, it is called wisdom, discernment, understanding, insight. When we have that wisdom then we know when it’s right to give and when it's not right to give.

Giving in grace demands proper motivation, the filling of the Holy Spirit, the Word of God resident in your soul and appreciation for what God gave.

The essence of communion. When you take the bread, remember the uniqueness of the person of Christ: His virgin birth, celebrityship, impact ability, Hypostatic Union King of kings and Lord of lords, undiminished deity and true humanity in one body forever. The cup represents the work of Christ on the cross. His spiritual death on the cross, His blood shed for you. Remember how He removed the barrier between God and man. Imputation of His righteousness, justification, sanctification set apart to the royal family of God (2 Cor 5:21).

Communion is a test. What do you remember of the Lord Jesus Christ? The communion ritual, eating the bread and drinking the cup, is done in remembrance of the Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 22:19-21). Communion needs to be done in the right way, filled with the Holy Spirit, or you will suffer. Remember the bread represents His virgin birth. Jesus was born without a sin nature and He remained sinless through dying on the cross. Remember He was the only true celebrity in this world and He was God-Man. His title over all humanity is King of kings and His title over all angels is Lord of lords (1 Tim 6:15).

Encouragement for living through a crisis: Isaiah 41:10, “Fear not, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you, I will uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.” If you can understand that verse, this is called faith-rest. The faith-rest drill is Problem-Solving Device #3 in the FLOT line of a believer’s soul. Learning how to stand on the promises of God. This is a promise that you can claim as a believer in Jesus Christ.

The Word of God must be learned under the authority of a well-qualified pastor and that authority is vested in a spiritual gift. Your spiritual life is based on understanding God or learning the principles and the provisions He's provided for you so that you can begin to replicate the thinking of Christ.

If you’re going to glorify God to the max, you’ll do it because you love Him. Love for God is a mental attitude based on the filling of the Holy Spirit and the content of the Word of God in your soul. It’s based on your appreciation and respect for Who and What God is. This motivates you to obey Him. One of the ways you obey Him is by having impersonal love for others. A terrific problem-solving device. “You have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Holy Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, loving one another with a pure heart” (1 Pet 1:22).

What does it mean to be a spiritually mature believer? I call it a spiritual profile. Do you have a spiritual profile? That's the question I’d like to ask you on the radio show this morning. What is the definition of a profile? It's a brief written description that provides information about someone or something, or it could be an outline or drawing. But we are talking about your life when God looks at you. What is the profile He sees in your life? What I'd like for you to do this morning is to look into the mirror of God's Word and get a realistic self-image of who you actually are.

Listen to what the Scripture says about the mirror of the Word of God. In James 1:22-25, “But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not merely hearers who delude themselves. For if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in the mirror; once he has looked at himself and goes away, he forgets what kind of person he was. But the one who looks intently at the perfect law, which is the law of liberty, and abides by it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an effectual doer, this man will be blessed in what he does.” The mirror for you and for me is the Bible - the Word of God.

The Word of God insists you do these three simple things: stay in fellowship, acquire the mind of Christ and fight that arrogant syndrome in your soul. Romans 12:3, “Stop thinking in terms of arrogance beyond what you should think.”

Love is a tremendous problem-solving device. The more you know about love the more you will use it. Love is a Christian motivation. You are the giver, not the taker. Satan has distorted love and made it an emotional feeling. That’s not love. Love comes from your thoughts. “Whoever keeps His Word the love of God is perfected in him” (1 John 2:5). Learning the Word of God develops capacity. The more capacity, the more appreciation you have for God and what He has done for you. You will be motivated to reciprocate His love.

God will never turn His back on you. He will never abandon you. “I give unto them eternal life and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand” (John 10:28-29). His love for you is unconditional. Your reciprocal love for God is the greatest motivational virtue in your life. The only way you’re ever going to love God is to know and understand God. Here’s a test. If you love God, you will obey His mandates and His mandates are not a burden (1 John 5:3).

God demonstrated His impersonal love for us by sending His Son to pay for our sins. And when we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and receive Him as our Savior we become a member of the family of God and we then have the personal love of God as Royal family members. Proverbs 8:17 says, “I love those who love me and those who diligently seek me will find me.”
