Colin Anderson and Candice Chetta are back in the studio bringing you another great episode for Pride Month! Today, we were thrilled to see the amazing retraction written by Donna Minkowitz. In 1994, Minkowitz wrote the Brandon Teena story and mischaracterized and misgendered him throughout the article. The piece went on to be the inspiration for the movie, Boys Don’t Cry. Minkowitz, after much soul searching, wrote what we think might be one of the most heartfelt retractions ever published. Donna Minkowitz is an example of a good ally, always working to do better and be better – which is what we’re all about here on The Garbage Barge!
