  • Geek Down 1-22-19 - Bird Box, Glass, and Future Man
It's the film that revolutionized child endangerment and blew up the internet (for a week and a half), BIRD BOX. Then, the only M. Night Shyamalan's twisting these days is his own nipples! His new picture GLASS will give you whiplash if you're not careful. From there we look forward to FUTUREMAN season 2, where our heroes return to their time and deal with the ramifications of screwing around in the past.
In the house: Pat B & Adam Willis

  • Glass (2019) Adam & Pat's movie review
The long awaited (kinda) conclusion of M.Night Shyamalan's Unbreakable trilogy *cough*cashgrab*cough* brought some mixed emotions to the crew. While Adam, who was actually excited to witness the story come to a head, Pat was more inclined to begrudgingly tolerate this twist-laden mess. Mostly built off a limited cache of goodwill brought on by James McAvoy's brilliant acting in "Split." That can only get you so far though... was it far enough for M.Night to recapture a place in our hearts? (Spoiler: No)
2000’s Unbreakable and 2016’s Split come together in this comic-book-like thriller: Glass. From Unbreakable, Bruce Willis returns as security guard David Dunn, who uses his supernatural abilities to track criminals, as does Samuel L. Jackson as Elijah Price, known also by his pseudonym Mr. Glass, in an entirely new position. Joining from Split are James McAvoy, reprising his role as Kevin Wendell Crumb and the multiple identities who reside within, and Anya Taylor-Joy as Casey Cooke, the only captive to survive an encounter with The Beast. Following the conclusion of Split, Glass finds Dunn pursuing Crumb’s superhuman figure of The Beast in a series of escalating encounters, while the shadowy presence of Price emerges as an orchestrator who holds secrets critical to both men. Yes, it's as grandiose as it sounds.

  • Bird Box (2019) Adam & Pat's movie review
So many people hurt... so much internet dumbness... and at the core of it all is a grossly adapted book that could have been decent if it was done by Hulu or Shudder. Maybe even Blumhouse! But instead we got (*drumroll*) Netflix. The streaming service brought a different post-apocalyptic thriller film, directed by Susanne Bier from a screenplay written by Eric Heisserer, and based on the 2014 novel of the same name.
When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain -- if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they'll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them -- and complete the trip blindfolded.

  • Future Man Season 2 (2019) Adam & Pat's Tv Show Review
You wanna learn a hard lesson about false pride? Watch season 1 of Future Man, get all hopeful and inspired, then IMMEDIATELY watch season 2. Not just a bummer and a half, but a HUGE slap in the face to what was one of the most entertaining stories of the past couple of years. This one made Pat cry a little inside.
The story picks up with Josh being kidnapped by Athena, a member of a secret terrorist organization called the Pointed Circle. His mission to save the world didn't work. Stu Camillo, now in power, had created the cure and humanity is more divided than ever. Now stuck in 2162 - Josh, Wolf, and Tiger have to salvage what's left of the world.

  • Geek Down discusses 2018 - the good, the bad, the trill AF, and the sad
2018 was a rough one -- great shows were canceled, great films were overshadowed, and politics misconstrued the meaning of 'great' entirely. We're telling it to kiss off! Here we go in on the spectacular and the suck-tastic of 2018. There wasn't time for everything but we shotgun-spread some of the poignant events. This was a loooooong one...

2018 was a rough one -- great shows were canceled, great films were overshadowed, and politics misconstrued the meaning of 'great' entirely. We're telling it to kiss off! Here we go in on the spectacular and the suck-tastic of 2018, get a little wet with DC's Aquaman, and see if we've still got the touch with the Michael-Bay-free Transformers film BumbleBee.

  • Geek Down 11-12-18: Farewell Stan Lee, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, & Girl in the Spider's Web
Sabrina the Teenage Witch went and got a dark reboot in THE CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA. Netflix's follows suit with it's own touch of the supernatural in the anime CASTLEVANIA, season 2. A new chapter in the saga of Lisbeth Salander debuts in THE GIRL IN THE SPIDERS WEB. And we remember the works and legacy of writer, comic pioneer, and everyone's favorite old coot - STAN LEE.

  • Geek Down 11-5-18: Bohemian Rhapsody, Paramount's Heathers, and Monster Loves You on Nintendo Switch
Get on your bikes and ride, because the champions are gonna rock you til another one bites the fat bottomed girl! ...Yeah, I said it! We're talking the new rock & roll biopic BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY. Then when 3 angry bears discover a trespassing child, and girl in the red cloak is losing the footrace with the wolf - do you A: Rescue, B: Laugh, or C: Preheat the oven? MOSTER LOVES YOU let's you make the call. Also, they've updated the cliche's but the suburban sadism stays the same. We review the Paramount Network's black comedy "Heathers" - based of the 1988 classic of the same name
