For three days the Seaport here in Boston is packed with celebrities, artists, cosplayers, general superfans and the HARDEST of hardcore aficianados (nerds) and enthusiasts (geeks) in the hub. The action-packed guest list included Captain James T (for "takes your girl") Kirk himself - William Shatner, and Vic Mignogna for the Star Trek 50th anniversary celebration, TV stars John Barrowman, Caity Lotz, Ciara Renee, and everyone's favorite absentee curmudgeon Frank Miller. The CW announces they're creating a new series starring DC's character "The Ray" and specifically that he's going to be gay. Pat's perturbed about the retcon of a hero that he (and apparently nobody else) has followed for years. Ray Terrill, a human ray of light in the shadow of his famous father, the Golden Age superhero known as "The Ray" became a hero to fight evil and follow in his father's legacy. Now the new animated RAY, will be redesigned as the first homosexual lead character of CW Seed’s Freedom Fighters: The Ray. All sides of the fence are covered in this arguement

Pat's heated about DC retconning characters that he (and apparently nobody else) cares about. This leads to Star Trek, because everything on this show leads to Star Trek. And finally to a couple of George Takei factoids

Pat's gives his impressions and whether or not this one's been worth the wait (and the hype).

Note: This review is NOT brought to you by "Jason's Steak-Ums!" Master assassin Arthur Bishop (Jason Statham) springs back into action after an old enemy (Sam Hazeldine) kidnaps the woman (Jessica Alba) he loves. He travels the globe to complete three impossible assassinations, and do what he does best, make them look like accidents. Guest appearances by Tommy Lee Jones and Michelle Yeoh... who don't do a godammed thing! It's corny, it's predictable, and it STILL somehow earns our seal of approval.

Hollywood casts celebrities to voice animated characters. As a working/struggling voice actor, this trend rubs Pat the wrong way. He, Adam and JM talk a little about why it happens and when it started.
