The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia

Jimmy got new underwear! Also, we finally get a chance to talk about the hilarious season 1 of What We Do In The Shadows. (It's on FX, seriously, watch it)

We also check out the 3 episode Black Mirror season 5, how does this season stack up to the previous superb seasons of the mind-bending anthology series.

Finally, Rob was one of the 15 people that went to see X-Men Dark Phoenix in the theater. Does he suggest that you become the 16th?

Then this week's question via e-mail:

What are the 5 television crossovers you would like to see?

Remember if you use our link (https://amzn.to/2KxR8OU) we get a little bit of money towards server costs at no extra cost to you. So go ahead and buy that Infinity Gauntlet you've always wanted.

Controversy abound on this weeks episode. One of us enjoyed Godzilla: King of the Monsters and another one of us is a big poopiehead. (clearly the one that enjoyed it is writing this blurb).

And speaking of giant monsters breaking crap, our Snap Decision covered AEW (All Elite Wrestling) and whether or not it poses a threat to the behemoth WWE.

We also covered Rocketman, the very well-done semi-biopic about Elton John. The visuals, music, acting and editing were great, so how does this stack up to Bohemian Rhapsody?

Then this week's question:

What are the 5 best giant monster movies?

This one is for the kids! Actually it really isn't. Unless you hate your kids and want to ruin their childhoods. But we do review 2 family friendly films Secret Life of Pets 2 (which is due out this coming weekend, so there's no spoilers) and Aladdin which technically is a remake of a film from 1992 so there shouldn't be any worry there.

Then we check out the Spielberg-esque sci fi romp (can I say that?) from Netflix, Rim of the World. How does this movie stack up with movies just like it from our childhood, and more importantly with sci fi films with 10x the budget.

Then this week's questions:

What are the 5 best summer camp movies?

Jimmy was away for this one, so as always we need to apologize. Things start off OK, but quickly devolve thanks to our listeners sending in some phallic news stories. We pull it together with a pretty in-depth conversation about what is the next step in nerd entertainment now that Marvel, Star Wars, Game of Thrones and Big Bang Theory have all reached various ends.

Then things got dark. HBO's Chernobyl, John Wick 3 close out the episode.

And for some reason Greg thought it would be fun to ask this question.

What are the 5 movies you'll never see again because the dog dies?

So join us for our feel good episode of 2019!

It all ends here. The final episode of Game of Thrones. We recap the end of the show on our final special episode. Who will sit on the iron throne? Who lives? Who dies? What questions will go unanswered? Will the legions of unsatisfied fans finally be satisfied? And most importantly of all, who won the Give Me Five Podcast alive or dead contest?

Also we did a Give Me Five question for this one.

What are the best series finales?

Join Jimmy, Rob, Greg and special guest host Myrt, as we say goodbye to Game of Thrones.

And remember to check out all of our Game of Thrones Recaps over the next few weeks and our regular review show as well.
