About Dr. Karin Ried
PhD, MSc, GDPH, Cert Integrative Medicine
Dr Ried is the Research Director at the National Institute of Integrative Medicine in Melbourne, Australia, and Honorary Visiting Academic at the University of Adelaide. Dr Ried has extensive expertise in nutritional medicine research with a particular focus on the effects of garlic, chocolate and tomato extract for hypertension and cardiovascular health.
Other ongoing projects include traditional Chinese herbal medicine and women’s health, and integrative cancer therapies. Dr Ried is an international leader in the areas of nutritional approaches to blood pressure control, and has more than 40 first author publications in peer-reviewed journals, with more than 700 citations.
Dr Ried is a frequent speaker at national and international conferences, and her research has been featured on radio, television, and in the print media internationally.
