We talked about lexical specifics showing that there is no evidence in Koine Greek literature where the Greek noun apostasia means a “physical or spatial departure.”

There are some pretrib teachers who think apostasia in 2 Thessalonians 2:3 refers to “the rapture.”  They assume that apostasia can mean a physical departure. But there is no lexical evidence for this as I explain in this episode. This is why you will not find any New Testament lexica that lists “physical departure” as an option for apostasia.

“Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not arrive until the rebellion [apostasia] comes and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction.” (2 Thess 2:3 NET)
