The Grim Curriculum

The 2011 Dupont de Ligonnès murders are one of France's most mysterious and haunting criminal cases. In April of that year, the bodies of five members of the Dupont de Ligonnès family were found buried beneath the terrace of their home in Nantes. The victims included Agnès Dupont de Ligonnès and her four children: Arthur, Thomas, Anne, and Benoît. Their father, Xavier Dupont de Ligonnès, was notably absent, and he quickly became the prime suspect. Not only is this a tragic case of family annihilation but as of this episode's release, the case remains unsolved.

The legend of the Black-Eyed Children (or Black-Eyed Kids, often abbreviated as BEKs) is a fairly modern urban legend involving supernatural or mysterious children who appear at people's doors, usually asking to be let inside. They’re described as having pale skin, unusual behavior, and completely black eyes without any white sclera or iris, making their appearance unsettling. We have some stories and a few theories as to the origins and motives of these strange little beings.

On October 16, 2024, the Menendez family held a press conference in Los Angeles to advocate for the possible re-sentencing of Lyle and Erik Menendez, who were convicted in 1996 for the murders of their parents, José and Kitty Menendez. Members from both Kitty and José's families emphasized that the brothers, now in prison for over three decades, committed the crime as a result of years of severe abuse by their father.

We always love to hear from you beautiful folks but we REALLY want to hear your thoughts and opinions on this one AND we want to know if you change your mind on the case at all!

After the murders, Lyle and Erik spent lavishly, using their parents' money, which raised suspicion. In 1990, Erik confessed to his therapist, Dr. Oziel, which ultimately led to their arrest. The defense team, led by Leslie Abramson, argued that the brothers killed their parents out of fear for their lives after years of abuse. The prosecution argued that the brothers killed their parents to inherit their fortune. At the end of two VERY different trials the brothers found themselves serving life without parole. We have a lot of thoughts on this case due to it's complicated and controversial story.

On the evening of August 20, 1989, José and Kitty Menendez were viciously murdered in their Beverly Hills mansion. The crime scene was so brutal that police initially suspected it might be a mob hit due to the level of violence. Their sons, Lyle and Erik, who called 911 after the murders, initially appeared as grief-stricken victims. However, in the months that followed, their behavior began to raise suspicions. In this episode, we explore the story of the Menendez family and the events that led to one of the most notorious parricide cases in true crime history.

On May 31, 2014, Morgan Geyser and Anissa Weier lured their 12-year-old friend, Payton Leutner, into a forest after a sleepover, attempting to take her life to appease the fictional character and internet cryptid, Slender Man. Geyser and Weier believed that by sacrificing their friend in Slender Man's name, they would be invited to live in his mansion as his "proxies."

American serial killer Gary Ridgway, also known as the Green River Killer, has recently been transferred from one penitentiary to another, sparking speculation that he may reveal additional information about his victims. Ridgway, convicted of murdering at least 49 women in the 1980s and 1990s, has long been suspected of having more victims than previously confirmed.

In a tragic turn of events, Kristina Joksimovic, a Miss Switzerland finalist, has allegedly been murdered by her husband, identified by authorities only as "Thomas." The details of her death are shocking and continue to unfold, leaving our jaws on the floor and our blood pressure rising.

In another wild case, a 71-year-old Indiana man has been arrested after allegedly poisoning his wife’s soda with a cocktail of illicit substances, all in a plan to run off with her 31-year-old daughter.

And in our strange and unusual death segment, we'll cover a story that might just make you reconsider how you react to your snoring relatives. What started as a possible solution ended as a very permanent one.

Most of us know Slenderman as a fictional, supernatural character that originated from an internet meme sometime back in 2009. He's tall, features a completely blank face and is seen sporting a crisp black suit. His backstory as a malevolent entity who stalks and abducts children came from a photoshop contest, but the inspiration for this internet cryptid goes back hundreds if not potentially thousands of years....Or does it?

Stay tuned for next week when we cover The Slenderman Stabbing case.
