She is best known for writing the book “Gorillas in the Mist”. She spent 13 years following 8 families of gorillas throughout the remote Rwandan wilderness. Dian's methods for protecting the Gorillas from poachers would make her many enemies and she found murdered in her cabin after tensions escalated to an all time high. Those responsible for her death are still unknown.
