Eimear McNelis of Red Dirt Road is a Journalist, Photographer and Marketing Specialist.
For over twenty years Eimear worked in media, corporate and freelance roles for medium to large scale companies in the UK, Ireland and Australia.
Nowadays, Eimear uses her skills as a journalist to help brands and individuals in the horticultural, alternative health and wellbeing and philanthropy sectors create impactful stories, so they can create a valuable and meaningful community.
In this episode, Eimear shares the process she went through over the last 13 years since being diagnosed with Coeliac disease, and how she awakened a passion for gardening.
We dive deep into the topics of no-dig gardening, intuitive gardening, the dopamine effect from sharing a harvest and how Yinnar Community Garden is Eimear's version of a Blue Zone.
"Gardening has made me aware of how important eating and growing locally is to your health and body, how gardening is a spiritual endeavour - meditation and grounding, being aware of climate change and our impact on waste and a way of keeping physically fit. When you nurture the earth, it’s really taking care of you in a complete way as a return." Eimear McNelis
