"Your environment dictates your success"
He says he has evolved so much in the 9 years he has been working in the industry, and is always striving for a better and more connected experience for his clients.
Unusually for a industry so focused on physical health Marcus takes a holistic view of health and gets new clients to focus on his company's 6 pillars of success - Training, Nutrition, Digestion, Mindset, Stress and Sleep.
He isn't a "smash loads of reps out in the gym" trainer, he is a full picture person working with real life people.
Some excellent guidance and insight into achieving the body and mind goals that you want to achieve in this episode.

So, you want to feel more confident? You asked for it, you got it.
Here is part one of "How to increase your self confidence" I put together the very best information I could think of to help with increasing self-confidence and this is what I came up with.
In fact I came up with some much of it that I had to spread it across multiple parts.
So if you're fed up of:
- Being indecisive.
One of the most common types of faulty thinking that is exposed by CBT is black and white thinking, also known as all or nothing thinking.
It is typified by the idea that there are no grey areas and that situations/events/life are completely binary.
You either succeed or you fail.
You win or you lose.
Further to this people can take singular events in their life and then massively overgeneralise this result across their entire life.
Here’s an example of something that I used to do which sums this up perfectly.
In my late teens I worked at a call centre for car insurance.
I took somewhere between 80-100 calls in a day, I was always nice, polite and tried to be as helpful as possible.
Most people calling were the same.
However if there was one crappy caller then when asked about my day at work I’d end up saying it was terrible.
So even though 99% of the calls were perfectly fine I would let the 1% define the day.
Here are some other examples of black and white thinking in action:
“I stumbled over a few words in my presentation so the whole presentation was awful.”
“My friend didn’t text me back so I might as well not bother texting them again”
“My date went badly so I’m obviously bad at dating.”
People who are prone to black and white thinking tend to take whatever has happened to them and let it colour their full experience of life.
Something good happens - everything is wonderful
Something bad happens - my life is over.
This can lead to massive mood swings as they simply don’t seem to recognise that there is an area of grey in the middle of these two extremes where most people live.
This is not a blog designed to help people with manic depression which can look very similar to this, although someone with manic depression may well experience all or nothing thinking.
This episode will give you 10 different things which you can do to overcome it.

Kinda felt like Gabriella and I were putting the world to rights at the start of this episode.
Gabriella, in her typically open and blunt, talks candidly about her pressures to be a size zero, how it was engrained to her from the media that skinny meant attractive and talks about the mental and physical costs of doing so.
Her "black hole" of depression and anxiety, crippled her and left her unable to even do a food shop - she dragged herself out with the help of her loving husband and her even more loving dog who she attributes to giving her the responsibilities she needed to pull herself up and out of the darkness.
This was a wonderfully open and interesting conversation that could have gone on for hours, I think we'll be having Gabriella on again sometime!
