This is one of the most honest and raw episodes of the podcast to date.
Kai got in contact with me as he'd heard about the podcast and was keen to share his mental health experiences with the world.
He's certainly been through the wringer a few times and talks openly and candidly about depression, addiction, grief, adult trauma, toxic relationships and boundaries.
There is so much great advice and insight in here.

No matter what is going on in your life getting a good night's sleep is never going to make things worse.
That's why as part of my training to become a cognitive behavioural hypnotherapist outside of the hypnotic inductions I learnt we were also taught how to relax people until a genuine deep sleep.
This audio will help you get to sleep in 15 minutes (or less)
Just get yourself somewhere warm, dark, and comfortable .
Put this podcast episode on, listen to my voice and let yourself drift seamlessly off into a deep sleep that will last all night.

Looking to get your life in order?
My chat with fellow magician Steven Blair about working out and yoga plus how it's helped him with his mental health.
He speaks about his own life and the issues that troubled him in particular feeling as if he was being forced into a societal expectation which simply didn't suit him.
We find very common ground on the difficulties and exhaustion from having to smile and put on a happy face to perform no matter how awful, anxious, depressed or even suicidal we've felt.
We finish by talking about suicide and depression and the unfortunate impact that it has had on our lives, both of us losing very good friends to it.

Chris Gear started doubtmydefault a Facebook page talking about depression and his own experiences of it in July 2020 as lockdown and life events had messed with his life, his routine and taken away his sense of purpose.
Chris, like so many others who've suffered with depression, has been inspired to learn more about mental health and psychology and wants to help other people.
We dive into chats about depression, gratitude, the need to have a purpose in life as well as the impact social media is having on mental health.

Chris Pratt look-a-like and generally great person Stephen Manton-Kelly gives me the insight on mental health within the building trade.
With long hours, hard work, long distance commutes and a "laddish" environment where feelings struggle to be spoken about it's no wonder the mental health issues are rife in the building trade.
Fortunately there has been a uprising of mental health talk thanks to unlikely sources such as The Lad Bible and On The Tools who released videos aimed at getting men on site talking.
Stephen candidly speaks about the big mistakes he's made in his life, how he's paid for them and how that, and his addictive personality led him to drinking.
This is a fun, eye-opening and honest chat.

Episode 8 sees my first chat with a complete stranger on the podcast.
Previous guest Becky from Yoga with Boosh said that HJ would be great to chat to and she wasn't wrong.
HJ is incredibly open about her long term battle with a severe anxiety condition describing her life as growing up in a therapy room. She is candid about getting bullied, her white privilege and the things that were necessary in order for her to get better.
She is amazingly in tune with her own mind and recognised months ago that any new lockdown would affect her mentally so started her mental health preparation for it 2 months ago.
As an avid mental health campaigner her instagram is full of great tips and techniques for improving your mental health - you can follow her here

Chatting with fellow Life Coach and Personal Trainer Jodie B.
She shares the story of her own transformative work which has allowed her to embrace herself fully and reveal her true feelings about herself to the world and to her clients.
She always knew there was more to personal training than just the physical side but it was only more recently since undergoing training that she's felt more able to supply her clients with this too.
I found this to be an incredible and deep discussion which opened up doors on how important having a deep understanding of why you're doing personal work is so vital to its success and how to support people who are having a hard - spoiler alert, it's not stacks of sympathy and how in fact that can just be infuriating.
I think everyone will be able to take something away from this episode.
