In this episode of the Secret MENS Business podcast we speak with Lee Galea about how his love for movies, turned into a career making indie films.

Lee Galea is an independent filmmaker based in Melbourne, Lee has completed 4 feature films including "Monster Pies" which became the winner of MQFF for Best Feature film in 2013. It went on to screen at Inside Out Toronto LGBT Film Festival, Philadelphia QFest and The Galway Film Fleadh. "Monster Pies" is distributed in the US and Europe by TLA releasing.

In 2017, Lee released an adaptation of "The Wizard of Oz" called "The Neon Spectrum" starring Joshua Orpin from "DC Titans", in his first feature film. It was released by Umbrella Entertainment and has been broadcast through the Nine network in Australia. "The Neon Spectrum" is also available through Amazon Prime.

Lee produced a soundtrack of mostly original songs for his 2019 musical drama "Filterphonic", which opened the "Lorne Film" festival in the same year.

His newest film "Sexagenarian" has halted Production due to COVID. He is currently writing a LGBTQI script called for TV

Like many men, Terry realised he was not Mr. Perfect. After a lifetime of mental struggle, he finally navigated a path to tackle his demons and found there was something missing in the support he accessed. Mr. Perfect was born.

Mr. Perfect is "Mental Health's Mate", a grassroots "pre-crisis" charity that creates community and connection by bringing men together at BBQs in local parks across Australia, to reduce isolation and encourage better mental health.

In this episode of the Secret MENS Business podcast we speak to Mike Snell, one of Australia's theatre legends.

After winning the TV reality show "I will Survive" he launched his career onto the stage. We speak to him about this journey, his mental health, and where is heading next.

Mike kick started his Musical Theatre career alongside Hugh Jackman in the Australian Arena production of The Boy From Oz. A succession of musicals followed, including Miss Saigon, Wicked, Hairspray, We Will Rock You and Legally Blonde where he earned himself a Helpmann Award Nomination for Best Supporting Actor for his role as, Kyle the UPS Delivery Guy.

Mike then went onto work with one of his favourite directors, Baz Luhrmann on the Australian production of, Strictly Ballroom. In 2017 Mike scored the hattrick with The Production Company performing in Hello Dolly (Rudolf), Jesus Christ Superstar (Simon of Zealots) and Brigadoon (Sword Dancer). He is fresh off the stage from Disney’s Aladdin and is thrilled to be a part of his first Adelaide Fringe with the cast of LE AERIAL.​

BENS STORY:

I wasn’t always passionate about men’s work. Until I experienced the power and love of being connected to good men and how this impacted my life. What it truly meant to have brothers and not just mates.

3 years ago, I stood on the scales and it read 95kgs. My body was a reflection of every area of my life. My marriage, my career, my mind and my overall health.

A fellow brother took a stand for me and pulled me out of a deep hole.

I knew there was only one way out - I had to take a stand for my life. I had to grow and heal the boy so the man could appear.

I took MASSIVE action in every area of my life. I resurrected my marriage, lost 25kgs, started a new business and went on an incredible journey of healing, learning and growing my mind.

I got really clear on who I truly am. You know, with out all the bull shit. I got clear on how I wanted to show up as a father, a husband and a man.

I stepped into my masculine core and it was the most liberating feeling in the world.

I ain’t gonna lie thou, it was fucking tough at times. There was some heavy days. Some days took every ounce of willpower to keep fighting for what I believed in.

I became obsessed with how the human mind works and understanding human behaviour. So I embarked on a career in mindset coaching. Graduating as a master practitioner in Neuro Linguistic Programming.

I found my purpose - to help men transform their lives. To breakthrough their bullshit, create an unshakeable mindset and step into their true masculine core.

I now dedicate my life to serving you. Creating a generation of kings to your queens, hero’s to their children, sons to proud parents and leaders amongst men.

It was 2018 when found himself in a small, hot, smelly and dusty cabin in Saudi Arabia.

What had started out as an opportunity to create wealth and stability for his family was quickly turning into one of the biggest mental battles of his life.

He was falling apart. Afraid to speak up and embarrassed at his lack of mental toughness – how on earth did he get here and how could he possibly get out of the massive hole he had created.
