James is a seasoned wellness coach and founder of The New Standard Wellness Coaching. Bringing with him over seven years of corporate coaching experience in major telecommunications companies, James is now dedicated to guiding individuals through their personal wellness journeys. His professional development includes study at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) and ongoing education at the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM). But it's not just about the credentials - James' approach to coaching is deeply personal and rooted in self-discovery. He believes in asking insightful questions that often go unasked and enabling his clients to confront truths they often avoid. However, James is not just a coach; he's someone who has personally experienced and overcome debilitating anxiety and depression. It's this experience that fuels his passion for wellness and the transformative power of exercise. Beyond the professional, James is also a drummer in an alternative rock cover band, a loving father to his 15-year-old daughter, and a tech enthusiast. His practical approach to wellness has fostered successful partnerships, such as those with Element Counseling in Dallas, TX and Monarch Behavioral Health in San Antonio, TX, and has led to significant client achievements, from getting in shape, starting their own businesses to improved relationships and reduced levels of anxiety and depression.

When you don't feel heard by your physician or therapist, when you feel like giving up on getting help, when nothing that the professionals are suggesting is working - what do you do? It's vital to take agency for your health and well-being, especially in this day and age, when the system is flooded with the demand and the supply is not there to give you the undivided attention you deserve. Lissette shares with me her experiences through life practicing self-advocacy in order to overcome her adversities and gain control of her health and well-being. *This episode may contain sensitive content for some)* Helpful resources are at my LinkTree: https://linktr.ee/healingwithsway. As an Aquarius, Lissette has always been something of a free spirit. Adventure was something she didn’t just enjoy — it was something I felt called to. She was born and raised in California, her parents are from Mexico. Lissette served 6 years in the U.S. Navy as a Logistics specialist, during her second deployment she started to get into holistic healing and crystals. She launched Good Vibes Only by Lizz LLC as a way to spread the message and build a community of like-minded people who also want to feel good so they can do good in the world.
