May is Mental Health Awareness Month; so for this month, I wanted to share about the importance of educating The Church and Christians about the reality of mental health. It sounds sacrilegious, but sometimes praying or reading your Bible isn’t going to fix everything... if that was the case, the pews would be full of completely sanctified and healed individuals.
Can God miraculously deliver us? Absolutely! Does He always do that? Absolutely not.
Please join me for a layered and complex dialogue regarding the principles and variables we in The Church need to consider concerning our mental health, the mental health of fellow believers; and ways to find healing, deliverance, and freedom outside of Sunday.
In this episode, I attempt to delineate between mental health and mental illness; biological factors; relational factors; factors of trauma; and spiritual factors – all of which can positively or negatively impact or mental health.
If you are a pastor, a minister, anybody in ministry- I hope and pray this is helpful for you as you consider the needs of those you are serving day in and day out…along with your own needs and the needs of your family members!
