In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan is joined by Richard Blosser of the Grit and Bear It podcast and Cory Swartz of Bears Hockey Nation and Field Pass Hockey In the episode they talk about the Bears and playing in the Calder Cup final. This will be Hershey's 24th Calder Cup Finals appearance and their first time back in the finals since 2016, when it was swept by the Cleveland Monsters. The Bears won back-to-back titles in 2009 and 2010 and have the most tiles in AHL history (11). Later they talk about Ethen Frank and his dip in production in the Calder Cup playoffs. According to Nova Caps: "Washington Capitals forward prospect Ethen Frank had an eye-popping regular season, posting 30 goals and 19 assists in just 57 games played. His performance during the 2022-23 season ultimately garnered him an NHL contract with the Capitals beginning next season. But Frank has been a no-show in the postseason, posting no goals and just two assists in 10 playoff games. Frank’s shot production is also way down. During the regular season he averaged 3.3 shots per game for a 16.1% success rate. During the postseason Frank is averaging just 1.8 shots per game and has yet to convert."Later they talk about the games ahead and what they have to do to win another Calder Cup.
