  • EP 56: Staying Buoyant in the Red Wave, with Terri - Part 1
After the election results were posted and Donald Trump was declared the winner, Terri, like millions of people who supported Kamala Harris, became despondent, depressed, and disillusioned. She called up her friend Traci, The Hilarious Hypnotist, and requested a session in hopes of not only helping herself get through the disappointment, but to also help others find peace in very uncertain times. Traci has worked with several clients on both sides of the political spectrum and knows that when someone vehemently hates a political candidate, it's because that candidate emulates the same mannerisms and behaviors as someone from their past. A few targeted questions, and Terri revealed a story about her ex-husband and Traci was able to connect the dots. Traci also touches on how the media and politics use "The Dark Arts of Hypnosis" to persuade their viewers to believe their narrative. KEY POINTS: - Terri shares the difficulties she's had in dealing with the election results. - Terri wishes she could go back to a time when politics didn't matter to her because she never paid attention. - Terri shares the story how her ex-husband literally kicked her to the curb, leaving her with nothing. -Terri shares some details about her personal life, and how she gets her news from "comedy" sources like The View, Jimmy Kimmel, and Stephen Colbert. -Terri admits she has trouble finding joy, despite having a great husband, a beautiful house, and has everything she could ever want. QUOTABLES :
    • I think I've always considered myself to be an impact that I feel other people's emotions, and so I just feel like I'm feeling everybody's fear.
    • I wish I could go back to when I didn't watch the news, wasn't involved in politics, and none of it mattered. I I've always held the belief for years and years that didn't matter who the president is, I decide my economics, I decide my money. I decide how my life is going to be, and whoever's President really doesn't affect me. And so I never voted. I never paid attention.
    • Typically, when people have a strong hate towards someone that they've technically never met, it's a reminder of someone in their past that hurt them just wearing another pair of shoes.

  • EP 55: Raccoons, Foxes, and Litterboxes with Skylar - Part 2

DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS EPISODE WHILE DRIVING!!! The Hilarity and Hypnosis Approach uses humor to kill the triggers, but since this is Skylar's third session, enough triggers have been addressed that it's time to start using HYPNOSIS to build up the behaviors that Skylar wants for herself. Using characteristics from her role models, The Hilarious Hypnotist Traci begins creating a recording she can listen to every night. She also does a mini-regression, taking Skylar back to the pre-teen who had all of her things taken away, and letting her know she's going to get all those things back and more sometime in the future.

Skylar visualizes a room with red and white sheets of paper, symbolizing past hurtful words and positive affirmations. They metaphorically tear up the red sheets and dispose of them, symbolizing letting go of past traumas. Skylar then fills the room with white sheets, representing positive characteristics and accomplishments. They also address specific past traumas, such as being bullied and losing a dog. The session concludes with Skylar feeling lighter and more at peace, having processed and released past hurt.

  • EP 53: "Mommy Python" with Sandy - Part 2
The Hilarious Hypnotist begins going through Sandy's triggers and scrambling her memories with Monty Python quotes and dad jokes. Sandy reveals more details behind the trigger of being around emotional women. Each round she feels better and better. Using a combination of Robert Smith's Faster EFT and David Snyder's techniques, Traci can get Sandy feeling calmer about her upbringing. Sandy agrees to return for another episode, as she still has 5 more "triggers" to work through. KEY POINTS: - Sandy reveals her experience sleeping under a bridge while her mother was in jail. -Traci tells a few bad dad jokes, including one Sandy hadn't heard. -Sandy mentions that her mother was so upset at one point, that she threw an iron skillet at her dad, which broke in 3 pieces when it hit the driveway. -Sandy explains that her father left several times, sometimes for a few months to a few years. -Traci starts to get Sandy feeling better about her upbringing and her situation. QUOTABLES (2 quotes): "Perfect. We're going to leave it right there for now. But what I want you to do is take a little bit, just a little bit of the red-orange schmutz, okay? And hold it in your hands. And as you hold it in your hands, you're going to feel it move a certain way. Okay, one way is going to feel like more grief and betrayal. But the other way is going to feel more like love self-worth, confidence." "Oh, what the fuck is this happiness? I don't know. But does it feel better than what you had? Yeah." "Is it different? Yeah. A little bit different. So go ahead now and imagine independent state being every day from here forward. And that you can be around anybody who's emotional. But you don't have to take part in their emotional illness. Is that empowering for you?" • EP 52: Snuffing it with Sandy - Part 1
Traci spoke at a Naturist Women's Rendezvous a few weeks ago and met Sandy. Traci's hypno senses lit up, and sensed there was a LOT more to Sandy than appeared and sure enough she was right. She invited Sandy to be on the podcast, and Sandy graciously accepted. Sandy, like many of Traci's clients, had a turbulent and unstable childhood. While they're "functioning" as adults, they have some triggers that just seem to keep getting in the way of their happiness. One of Sandy's triggers is being around emotional women, which she acquired from numerous incidents with her mother. While we start with a list of sex-emotional triggers, this one has a lot of juice so the entire session was focused on this one trigger. KEY POINTS: - Sandy outlines the 6 triggers she'd like to work on with Traci, including emotional women, partners not saying goodbye, Catholic guilt, not being able to say NO, stage fright/fear of rejection, and her strong freeze response. -Traci begins asking for details surrounding her emotional mother's outbursts. -Sandy mentions that she finds Monty Python and dad jokes to be funny. -Sandy details several fights between her mother and father, and how she dealt with them. -Sandy reveals that she ended up sleeping under a bridge for a few weeks until being placed in foster care. QUOTABLES: "It's people like you who cause unrest!" ~Monty Python "This parrot has ceased to be. He is no more. ~Monty Python "Like you're lucky because when my mother and my stepfather would fight he would leave. Sometimes he'd be gone for years. I mean, they got back together and then split up and got back together and split up, and eventually, when he passed away, it was in her house. But there were a lot of years that he wasn't there." "You hear him saying the words you abandoned me when I needed you most? It's the audio you can hear it in your head." "And I'm glad I had a moment of clarity yesterday. It was after talking to my financial guy that made me think that I don't have to go rush out and make any permanent decisions right now. I can simply rent something until I figure out what's next." "You know, we all keep our issues in our body. Some people keep it in their sinuses. I keep that stuff on my sinuses too. When I'm letting go of stuff, it's all about the number of tissues." • EP 50: Perspectives on Life Explosions with Sandy -Part 1
Often times when my clients start working with me, the Universe picks up on it and the waves of change ripple out and come back in unexpected ways. In the three weeks since Sandy's first visit, her boyfriend of 4 years broke up with her, she had to find a new place to live, and she discovered her grandkids (that she's not allowed to see) found their way from Guatemala to Florida. As we go through Sandy's life, the patterns of abandonment, betrayal, and lack of control emerge. Now that Sandy's being forced to change her life, The Hilarious Hypnotist coaches her into thinking about what she needs to do to live her best life. KEY POINTS: - Sandy reports what's happened since their last session; her boyfriend of 4 years broke up with her, she has to find a new place to live, and she discovered her grandchildren left Guatemala and are now living a few hours away from her in Florida. -Sandy reveals the complicated relationship with her son; after she gave him a lot of money, she had to cut him off. He no longer allows his kids to see their grandmother. -Sandy admits she gets upset when she loses control, and her body is paying the price as she experiences various ailments. -Sandy celebrates 25 years of being sober and is approaching the 20th anniversary of her quitting smoking. -Sandy mentions isolating herself from others when Traci points out that perhaps she wasn't "depressed" but she needed time to cocoon. -Traci guides Sandy through her Rate A Date system, so she can begin manifesting what she wants in her next relationship. QUOTABLES: "It's awful because people take the rejection personally, but the truth is that everybody's the star in their own movie." "You want someone who is sober, a nonsmoker, kind of thoughtful. Someone who can communicate. A foodie that lives within a 30 minute drive that appreciates the nudist lifestyle." You saw your dad every other weekend and you missed some things because you were with your dad. What did you miss? "I don't know. I think that's probably why I am the way I am. And there's really nothing I can do about it. But you know, the fact that I connected these dots in all these years that's one thing I didn't connect the dots. "We all learn at our own pace. About The Hilarious Hypnotist

From the publisher's feed

Welcome to the hilarious hypnotist Podcast. I'm Traci Kanaan, your hostess of hypnosis, and I'm a certified hypnotist and hypnotherapist and a former internationally touring comedian. For years I've been using hypnosis to help my clients become the next best version of themselves. One day, I started combining my hypnosis with the skills I learned performing stand-up comedy, and BOOM, I was breaking the traumas that kept disempowering my clients with lightning speed.
