In June of 2002, in West Columbia, South Carolina, 15-year-old Kara Robinson was out in the front yard of her best friend’s house, helping to water some plants and shrubs, when a strange man, about 30 years old, clean-cut and white, approached her. She had actually noticed his car leaving the neighborhood before because it was a car she liked, so she thought it was odd when it pulled back into the neighborhood and into her friend’s driveway. He began by asking if her parents were home and if he could sell them some magazines. She told him that this was actually not her house, and he asked if her friends’ parents were home. When she said they weren’t, he handed her the magazines with his left hand and put a small pistol to her neck with his right hand and demanded she come with him. He told her if she screamed, he would shoot her, and he forced her into his Pontiac TransAm.

The Coronado police were called out to the same home twice in one week. First, when a little boy fell over the stair railing and was taken to the hospital. Then, less than two full days later, a woman was found hanging from her balcony - nude, bound, and gagged - and was pronounced dead at the scene. Police immediately thought that the death of 32 year old, Rebecca Zahau, was connected to the incident two days prior with 6 year old Max Shacknai, but maybe not in the way you might expect.

On February 25th, 1980, in Blountstown, Florida, 2-year-old Cassidy Marie Johnson was taken to the hospital, accompanied by her parents. She had been brought in because her babysitter, Christine, had told them that Cassidy had suddenly passed out and fallen out of her crib, hitting her head. Christine explained that when she realized Cassidy didn’t seem to be breathing, and didn’t seem to have a pulse, she tried to revive her herself, but was unable to, so she called the Sheriff's Department. An ambulance came to transport her to the hospital in Tallahassee.

On June 3rd, 2011, 20 year old Indiana University student, Lauren Spierer, disappeared after a night out with friends. Camera footage followed her route until 2:51am where it showed her exiting an alley. The story is that witnesses saw her alive until 4:30am, when Lauren started walking home alone with no shoes, phone, purse, or keys - so intoxicated that she could barely walk. But she never made it home. Today, 13 years later, Lauren has still never been found and her case remains unsolved.

On December 6th, 2009, Teka Adams woke up in her hospital room in Washington, D.C. and asked her husband, P.J., where their baby was and how she was doing. Teka had been admitted to the hospital at around 8 months pregnant. Just as she had asked P.J. about their baby, a nurse walked in the room to let Teka know that she had successfully given birth to a beautiful, healthy, 8 pound, 2 ounce baby girl, who she named Miracle Sky. Truthfully, her birth was nothing short of a miracle. Let’s go back to the events that led Teka to that hospital room, because it wasn’t labor, and Miracle’s birth story was nothing short of horrific.
