  • Furness H1 - Super Bowl matchup set / Weekend takeaways / Power Play: Pius Suter / Brian Schmetzer staying put
The Super Bowl matchup is set, and we couldn't have asked for much more (aside from the Hawks representing the NFC obviously). Arguably the greatest quarterback of all time leading a new team to a chance at a Lombardi Trophy in their own stadium vs. an up-and-coming quarterback who is trying to win back-to-back championships. There was a lot to take away from yesterday's games. For one, it's more clear than ever that it's just difficult to get here. Aaron Rodgers had one of the best seasons of his career, and just couldn't get it done yesterday. The Bills were dominant all season, until yesterday. This isn't the NBA, or baseball. New teams make runs every year. It's remarkable that Mahomes has done it twice in a row, and even more remarkable that Brady has gotten there yet again, this time with a whole different team. Additionally, aggression was rewarded. There are times to play conservatively, but yesterday Kansas City and Tampa took chances, and it paid off. Pius Suter's hat trick, and a major trade are featured in our daily Power Play. Brian Schmetzer is back to coach another season with the Sounders. It would have been shocking had he actually not been back.

  • Furness H2 - Aaron Rodgers & the ripple effect / OC hunt continues / Mike Sando: How Seattle almost drafted Rodgers / Softy: Russ v the cap
Some top-tier quarterbacks have left, or are leaving their longtime teams. Is Aaron Rodgers about to be one of them? Comments he made after the game yesterday seem to suggest that he wants out, and it's not the only sign that a change could be coming to the frozen tundra. The Hawks OC search continues, and sources say some of the names you think are on the list aren't being considered, and other names they are looking at are completely off the public's radar. Don't be surprised if the hire catches us completely off-guard. After the passing of Ted Thompson, Mike Sando tells the story of how the Seattle Seahawks could have very easily ended up drafting Aaron Rodgers. Texts react to the show at 49451. Softy discusses Russell Wilson's salary in relation to the cap, and how it complicates this team's ability to win Super Bowls.

  • Furness H1 - Hank Aaron passes away at 86 / Championship weekend preview / Gary Parrish on college basketball
It's a sad day in the sports world as we announce the death of baseball legend Hank Aaron who passed away at the age of 86. Not only was he one of the best players in the game, and an icon as a player of color when racism still ran rampant, but he was by all accounts a humble and personable guy. RIP Hank Aaron, you will be missed. Just as we're trying to get high school sports rolling again, the Kent School District superintendent is looking to shut them down. This isn't about safety, it's a play against the Teachers Union, and the kids have been caught in the middle. Just as we've done for the last two weeks, we check in with reporters covering each of the last four teams standing. We ask one simple question; what does you r team need to do to win this weekend? Gary Parrish gives us our first look at college basketball for the season. Are the Gonzaga Bulldogs really as good as they appear? Gary also explains how the first two rounds of the tournament will work in a revamped COVID-era format.

  • Furness H1 - Larry Scott is on the way out / Kirk Schulz on moving on from the commissioner/ Power Play
It's the moment most Pac-12 fans have been looking forward to for a long time; Larry Scott will no longer be commissioner of the Pac-12. Scott will continue to head the conference through June, and no word yet on who the next commissioner of the conference of champions might be, but it's good to see a change coming. How did this come about, and what's next for the Pac-12? WSU president, and member of the executive committee Kirk Schulz tells us more about the decision to part ways with Larry Scott. Seattle Thunderbirds alum Shea Theodore scored twice last night to help the Golden Knights get a 5-2 win last night. We've got the highlights on the Power Play. Our Something Good? Yeah, it's the change in Pac-12 commissioners, and Kirk Schulz's enthusiasm today.
