The Ian Furness Show

In case you missed the announcement this morning, the Dawgs are back where they belong, on 950 KJR for football and basketball games. How much will COVID-19 impact the basketball tournament? We should start seeing the players of the future with the big league club this year. Pieces are going to start falling into place. On today's Power Play, former Tri-City American Morgan Geekie makes a huge splash in his NHL debut with the Carolina Hurricanes. On Something Good, the canceled Arnold Sports Festival in Ohio donates tons of food to tornado victims in Nashville.

The NFLPA has extended the deadline for players to cast their vote on the new collective bargaining agreement, and strongly encouraging players to read over the material. We'll keep close track on what happens, but we're pretty sure there's going to be some angry players regardless of which way this goes. Over the weekend we saw the WIAA state basketball championships and Ian noted that certain schools tended to lack much fan support, and that trended closely with schools that actively recruited players. It might be time to have a serious conversation about recruiting and transferring in high school sports.
