  • EP32 – [After Show] The 8 Keys To Total Sexy Health
In this episode, Chris and Sarah dissect their learnings and ‘aha’ moments from Chris’ one-to-one conversation in Episode 31 with Udo Erasmus.
Udo Erasmus is a world-renowned pioneer of the health and wellness industry having created FLAX OIL and the Healthy Fats Movement.
Like all good hero journeys, Udo’s journey to health truly started in 1980 when he was called into battle -- in his case, the enemy was in the form of pesticide poisoning. After being underwhelmed by what medical doctors offered as a solution to his poisoning, Udo realized he had to take 100% responsibility for his own health and specifically looked to food as the main medicine and began a quest to learn everything he could about disease, health, the body, mind and nutrition.
Now for the past 40 years he has passionately helped millions of people take control of their health through his Udo’s Choice line of products, thousands of lectures, online programs and his best selling book “Fats that heal, Fats that kill”. His latest book is The Book of Total Sexy Health - the 8 key parts designed by nature.

What is your core philosophy about health? I mean, what is going to determine your level of lifetime health? And how much control do you have over that?
Is it your genetics? Are you destined to live or die just as your parents did? Is your core belief that after a certain age -- maybe 35 or 50 or 70 -- it’s pretty much downhill, a slow inevitable decline of wellness, activity, flexibility or movement?
Or do you have massive control and influence over your lifespan, vitality and physical body functions?
It’s a very important question to ponder, and to look in the mirror at not just your beliefs, but the daily choices you make.
Because, let’s be honest, it is simple not true that you are 100% regulated by your genetics. You have incredible influence over your lifespan, healthspan and longevity. But it’s field that is riddled with misinformation and conflicting advice.
So that’s why I prefer to seek real experts. People who have done the deep work -- the research, the testing, the broad experience and exposure who know what absolutely works for the masses.
It’s why I’m excited to bring you today’s conversation with Udo Erasmus. Udo has been leading the charge for decades and helped millions of people take control of the core elements of their health, diet and frankly, happiness.

    A rollercoaster year for sure.

    =====
When I was growing up as a kid, I wasn’t a big reader. In fact, I didn’t really enjoy reading....I think it was likely because I felt like a slow reader. On closer reflection, I suppose the truth is I didn’t enjoy reading books. I was pretty good with magazines, or reading the daily stats in our local newspaper from all the sport events of the previous night. I could pour over that for a hour -- who scored, who assisted, what team was now leading the standings. Certain things, I guess, just grabbed my attention and it didn’t feel like reading.
And thinking back to it, one book that absolutely fascinated me, was the Guiness Book of World Records -- How incredible! The world’s tallest man! Longest beard! Widest tree! Biggest ball of string (...which by the way…(Frank Stoeber started the World's Largest Ball of Twine in 1953. In just 4 years the giant ball of twine weighed 5,000 pounds and stood 8 feet high. Stoeber gave the ball of twine to Cawker City, Kansas in 1961)
So I kinda double-geeked out when today’s guest reached out to The Ignition Show to see if we’d like to talk. Howard Berg is not just a prolific reader...he was named the World’s Fastest Reader by the Guiness Book of Records.
And what I appreciate about Howard’s continued commitment, as you’ll see, it’s not just about speed reading, it’s about accelerated learning.
My hope for our conversation today is it will take the lid off your assumptions about what you can learn, how you can learn more and how that will only accelerate your success in every area of your life.
Howard also has a special offer for listeners of The Ignition Show so stick around to get that at the end.
We all put limitations on ourselves and what we think we’re capable of. Listen closely to this episode and in just a few minutes you’ll be given ways to blast through those perceived limitations and step a little closer to your true potential.

It’s more common than you think and you’re certainly not alone.
It’s one of the themes that often shows up in my work with my private clients who want to take their life to the next level.

  • EP25 – Truth, Lies and The Pursuit of Happiness With Dr. Laurie Santos
What makes you happy? Or perhaps more accurately, what do you THINK makes you happy? And what if you’ve got it all wrong?
Have you ever been really excited or gungho for something -- maybe a vacation, a concert, a big goal or a 1st date and it played out exactly as you wanted but in the end, it didn’t give you the joy, happiness or fulfillment that you expected.
Well, if so, you’re definitely not alone.
One of the core tenents of this podcast is to shine the spotlight on what truly matters in the pursuit of your potential. Not just in personal opinion, but in well-researched and validated science. Personal, I geek out on what modern science and research can tell us about ourselves that flies beneath the radar of our awareness and understanding.
And it turns out that how we see, what we expect and our attempt to achieve happiness might be one area that we completely misunderstand.
So I’m super excited to bring you today’s conversation with Dr. Laurie Santos from Yale University. I first learned of Laurie when I was preparing for a keynote presentation to an audience of 400 first-year university students. I was keen to understand what are the challenges that students face and was struck that both Stanford University and Yale University -- two higher learning institutions that are world-renowned for their academic excellence, elite courses and producing super smart thinkers in advanced subjects -- that both these schools most popular courses were about consciously creating a life of happiness, meaning and fulfillment.
While that’s not exactly a hard science, it is absolutely a science and as we’re about to find out, it can take hard work to consciously create happiness, in a true and meaningful way in our lives.
Our guest today is the designer and deliverer of that course at Yale University.
To help you make this episode highly personal to you, I’d ask you to think, right now in this moment, think about what you are current working hard to achieve or pursue. What are you pouring your time, attention or money into and what about pursuing that do you think will make you happy? And are you happy in the process or are you just hoping that happiness will be the payoff in the end.
With that in mind, prepare to have your expectations challenged by Dr. Laurie Santos. Be open to being wrong and be open to taking a different path to your ultimate happiness.
    Enjoy the conversation...
