One decision I made early on in the pursuit of my potential, was the vital importance of health. For decades I have treated health as my #1 value -- I invest in it, I train it, I continue to be an active student of what is needed to develop vitality, especially as you go through the stages of life.
So I’m excited to bring you someone today who knows way more than me on this topic. His name is Kyle Brown and Kyle and I first met about 2 years ago when he commented on a random post I put on Facebook. We had a conversation and immediately connected over so many aspects of personal growth and development, health and also the challenges and mistakes people make when trying to improve, optimize or transform their physical well-being.
No doubt this is a category full of information, misinformation, confusion and overwhelm. With his years of being in the trenches with some of the most famous people on the planet, with the best bodies and minds, Kyle brings a sharp clarity and cuts through the noise to tell you like it is.
I hope you enjoy this conversation and be sure to capture in whatever way you can, the key ideas and insights that resonate with you, that you’ll use to ignite your ultimate health, vitality and potential.

A day when you didn't get nearly as much done as you wanted to, a day when you were pulled or pushed into way too many dramas, demands and distractions.
The question we want to talk about today is what do you do when you have a bad day?
How do you respond to a bad day? When it starts to go off the rails do you let it go fully off the rails? Maybe you've never even thought about your bad days and you try to sweep them under the carpet, pretend it didn't happen or just get up and grind it out again the next day.

  • EP09 – The A to Z of Success
I can see by the calendar that we’ve hit the midway mark. We’ve turned the corner and it’s now half way through the year. So how is your year going so far?
While it is arbitrary marker of time, the start of July is a perfect opportunity to step back and reflect on what you’ve achieved and if you’re on track with what you hoped to accomplish this year.
To help you with that, I wanted to offer up the A-Z of success. Much of success comes down to what you bring, how you show up and what qualities of yours have been in charge of your decisions, focus, habits and mindset.
So for each letter of the alphabet there is a word that I associate with an ingredient of success. This is the list I created at the start of the year and I wanted to share to hopefully inspire you to connect – or reconnect – to those parts of you that you need to dial up to make the second half of this year even better than the first.

  • EP07 – Overcoming Sabotage & Discover Your True Self with Shirzad Chamine
On today’s show we’re speaking with Shirzad Chamine.
Shirzad is the New York Times bestselling author of Positive Intelligence, an amazing book now translated into 20 languages. He has been CEO of the largest coach training organization in the world and has trained faculty at Stanford and Yale business schools.
Shirzad lectures on Positive Intelligence at Stanford University and works with Stanford’s NCAA athletes. A preeminent C-suite advisor, Shirzad has coached hundreds of CEOs and their executive teams. His background includes graduate level studies in neuroscience in addition to a BA in psychology, an MS in electrical engineering, and an MBA from Stanford.
And what I appreciate most about all his work, while it’s deeply grounded in advanced, proven brain science, ultimately it’s about uncovering and reconnecting with your amazing potential, your magnificent self and living your true calling in life.
    Topics covered in this conversation:
What is Positive Intelligence and how does it relate to Emotional Intelligence
How Shirzad’s “entrepreneurial meltdown” led him to a new trajectory of his life
How your “Sage” can face any challenge or crisis
The value of negative emotions and why you need to pay attention to them
What our “Saboteurs” do to us and what you need to know about fear
How parents impact their children’s self-image
Why mental fitness should be in every high school education program
    The power of “PQ Reps”
The two lies we tell ourselves about making big changes in our lives
One the foundational drivers in my life since my teenage years, was to gain a deep understanding of what it truly takes to be successful in life. I had to potential to do well, or so I thought and I became obsessed about learning about the “secrets of success”.
At first, this took me down a path of “achievement” - how to excel, how to lead, how to win, how to compete and perform at the highest level.
The second phase of my curiosity led me to more specifically explore our inner game – mindset, attitude, beliefs and the realizations that we can influence so much of underpins the drive to achieve.
But perhaps the most important phase of my journey has been to understand the deeper science of what shapes our most fundamental beliefs about who we are…our identity, our self-image and our self-worth. The power of our subconscious mind and the lessons we learn very early in life that leads us to create very strong beliefs about how to survive, to be loved and to be valued.
The advanced science can be far too specialized for us to translate into practical application so we need leaders to simplify and provide a language to help us grasp what is really going on inside us and give us simple tools that are proven to work.
This episode’s guest is one such leader. Author, Stanford Lecturer and CEO-whisperer Shirzad Chamine has created a scientifically-grounded, measurable and super super practical body of work called Positive Intelligence to help liberate us from old programming so that we may live fully, freely and openly as our best self.
There is so much to learn in this episode so be sure to capture your key ideas and spend time reflecting on what holds you back…and how can tap more into your infinite potential. It was a joy to have this conversation with Shirzad and I hope you enjoy listening too.

  • EP04 – Living with Purpose with Gary LeBlanc
We all have our own experiences, but I’m sure you’d agree that we live in a time where there are more distractions or temptations that give us short term gratification — whether that’s easy convenient foods, a hit of social media or a quick share of celebrity gossip. One of the pillars of this podcast, is the paradox that Growing to our potential requires purposeful, positive empowerment…but our culture is often suffocating us with negative drama.
So today we’re going to address this paradox in a conversation with Gary Leblanc – a man who knows a thing or two about living a purposeful life and the importance of rising above those temptations that give us a quick hit but don’t provide long term happiness.

-The noise that takes us away from what matters most
-What Gary learned to value from his parents
-Why adversity can be a blessing
-The power of being intentionally “in tension”
-Why you might want to seek out and find criticism
-How the delta of expectation can cause a lot of pain
-Why taking an inventory of what serves you and what doesn’t serve you can help you clarify what needs to change
-The power of growing in the values you profess to have
-What your physical environment does to your attention
