When starting their entrepreneurial journey, so many entrepreneurs are thrilled to finally have full control over every aspect of their business. Angela Merola is here to tell everyone that you actually need to give up some of that control to find success in your business. You’ll hear about how to start responsibly loosening your grip, seeking out the right team to work with for you, and why developing a vision is so crucial for every part of your life.
- A business is not just an unchanging entity with a logo, rather, it is the conglomeration of the many leaders who make up the business and define the business through their own traits, be they good or bad.
It’s important for entrepreneurs to be able to let go of some of the control they have in order to be successful. This will start to open up huge portions of time for you that would normally be spent taking care of smaller issues that don’t require you to solve. One way to start giving up a little bit of the control is by thinking of a very low-risk task and what skill set is needed to do it. Then find someone to do it and train them. You can train someone to do things and you don’t have to do everything yourself.Take time to think of who are the people in your life that really support you. Then think about what kind of people you really want to work with and go out with clear intent to find and hire the people that are going to support you. As an entrepreneur, every day you have to ask yourself what it is that you want and that is your intention. By setting aside time to develop and plan out your vision, you won’t get stumped by those questions the moment you wake up every day.Ask yourself these questions: 1. What do you want from the work that you’re doing? 2. Why are you doing it? 3. What do you want your day to look like? Doing this daily along with writing the answers down each time will help you gain a deeper “why” than before. You don't have to make the decision that you are in fact going to go do that thing before you even just start taking small steps toward it. You don’t have to commit 100% beforehand, so you absolutely should take small steps and learn more without fear.- “You don't have to make the decision that you are in fact going to go do that thing before just taking steps toward it.” - Angela Merola
